Casee: I have finally had some time to read. It’s been really nice. I’m almost finished with Alpha’s Promise by Rebecca Zanetti. I’m really enjoying it. I think I’m going to pick up Wolf Rain by Nalini Singh next.

I’ve been listening to the Boudreaux series by Kristen Proby. I’m currently listening to Easy Kisses, which is book four. I decided to just go for it and finish the series. There are six books in the series.

Holly: I’m actually reading books again. Yay! I mostly reread this week, but I’m taking it as a win after the past couple weeks.

I re-read The Golden Dynasty, The Will, Soaring and The Time in Between by Kristen Ashley. I attempted to read If It Makes You Happy by Claire Kann, but the book turned out to be something completely different than I expected and I DNF’d it halfway through. I’m currently reading Sin & Magic by K.F. Breene and listening to The Knocked Up Plan by Lauren Blakely.

Rowena: I started the week off finishing Ayesha at Last by Uzma Jalaluddin and that was an enjoyable read then I moved on to start reading If It Makes You Happy by Claire Kann and like Holly, it wasn’t for me. It started off well but then it took a sharp turn toward shit I wasn’t in the mood for so we both quit the book. Now, I’m reading two books. I’m reading The Rest of the Story by Sarah Dessen and Natalie Tan’s Book of Luck and Fortune by Roselle Lim. So far, both books are great.

Nicholas Lyon gambled his way into a fortune and ownership of the most opulent, notorious gentlemen’s club in England. But when Nick’s cruel brother dies, he inherits a title he never wanted. The sooner Nick is rid of the estate that has always haunted him, the sooner he can return to the life he’s built in London. But there’s one obstacle—the exquisite Thomasina Thorne.

When the new heir to the Tremayne dukedom suddenly appears in Mina Thorne’s life, she’s flustered. Not only is he breathtakingly handsome, but he’s also determined to take away her home and position as steward of the Enderley estate. If Mina learns what makes the enigmatic duke tick, perhaps she can change his mind—as long as she doesn’t get too close to him.

With each day Nick spends with Mina, his resolve weakens as their colliding wills lead to explosive desire. Could she be the one woman who can help him finally bury the ghosts of his past?

Glad to hear that you’re all reading again. It’s been a busy few days here; I’ll be back later or tomorrow with my list.

almost at the end of Samantha James’ The Secret Passion of Simon Blackwell

The Girl Who Knew Too Much by Amanda Quick took place during a fascinating time period.

I finished Karen Ranney’s To Wed an Heiress and read Kelly Bowen’s A Rogue by Night – both were great!

I just finished Passion on Park Avenue by Lauren Layne. It was good, but there were some weaknesses in the heroine’s portrayal.

    Recent reads here ~

    — Expendable (League of Peoples) by James Alan Gardner was a science fiction novel with an unusual premise; I was kept guessing and often did not foresee where the story would go. I enjoyed it.
    — His Steadfast Love and Other Stories by Paul Brownsey is a collection of stories by one author. I enjoyed some of the stories, others left me unmoved.
    — the short work Skybound by Aleksandr Voinov. I found its setting (WWII Germany) and characters (pilot and plane mechanic) unusual for a romance which added to my enjoyment.
    — Ben Aaronovitch’s Lies Sleeping. This is number seven in the Rivers of London series. I look forward to the next volume.
    — The Enchanted Hour: The Miraculous Power of Reading Aloud in the Age of Distraction by Meghan Cox Gurdon which was both sobering and enjoyable to read. This would be a good book to give to new parents. It reminds me of Jim Trelease’s The Read-Aloud Handbook but with fewer book recommendations and with added material about the importance of reading aloud at ALL ages.

Kill the Queen by Jennifer Estep. Glad I don’t have to wait long for book 2 that comes out in July.
