I just finished up Archangel’s Light by Nalini Singh. Bluebell & Sparkle are everything. I adore those two & loved the beginning of their story. I just received an eARC for Give Me a Reason by A.L. Jackson that I’m really looking forward to. It’s the first book in a new series. I love me some A.L. Jackson.

I didn’t have a lot of reading time again this week, which bums me out because I wanted to read. I finished Revealed in Fire by K.F. Breene, then read Mentored in Fire. I didn’t realize the third book, Battle with Fire, wasn’t out until September. I hate waiting. I can’t wait to see how the series ends.

I started a new-to-me series, The Ghost Mountain Wolf Shifters by Audrey Faye. I read the first three books, Alpha, Heart and Rebel. It’s a very sweet series that follows a shifter pack as they recover from years under an abusive alpha. I’m looking forward to continuing the series.

I set aside the audio of Dark Shores by Danielle L. Jensen. I’m interested in the story, but there was a lot going on and I wasn’t able to give it the attention I needed to. I’ll go back to it when I can focus on it fully, or I’ll just read it. I’m currently reading The Devil You Know by Kit Rocha.

I am reading Archangel’s Light by Nalini Singh. I adore Blue & Sparkle. I’m about halfway through it. I love reading more about their friendship & learning how they came to be where they are today. I’m hoping to finish today.

I’m not listening to an audiobook. I want to find one that sounds interesting and nothing has caught my eye recently.

I didn’t have a lot of reading time this week. I read Last Guard by Nalini Singh, which I really enjoyed, then read Archangel’s Light. I’ve been dying for Archangel’s Light. I love Illium and Aodhan. I’m excited to see where things go from here.

I started Revealed in Fire by K.F. Breene and Dark Shores by Danielle L. Jensen. I’m pretty early into both, but I’m enjoying them so far. I hope to finish both this weekend. I have no idea what I’m going to read next.

I’ve been reading Jessica Gadziala non-stop for the last couple of months. I decided to head back to The Henchmen MC series. I finished Renny last night & am starting Lazarus. Or I might start Darkest Heart by Juliette Cross. I haven’t been much into paranormal lately so I’m not sure yet.

I’m still listening to Eternal by Lisa Scottoline for book club. I’m about 40% through & it’s definitely getting more interesting. But it’s so effing sad.

Holly

I spent the last week reading The Sarazen Saga by Isabel Wroth, a sci-fi series. Sarazen’s Claim is the first book, and the next three books Sarazen’s Vengeance, Sarazen’s Betrayal and Sarazen’s Hunt parallel it (i.e., they all start in the same place, then veer off in different directions). From there, Sarazen’s Fury and Blood and Venom go in different directions but are connected. There were some really dark themes and some problematic areas, but I enjoyed the series as a whole and look forward to more books in the future.

I listened to Lady Derring Takes a Lover by Julie Anne Long for my book club, and then listened to Wildfire by Ilona Andrews as something to fill the time while I was unable to read.

I’m not sure what I’m going to read next. I can’t decide what I’m in the mood for. I may pick up Last Guard by Nalini Singh.

This week, I tried reading Angel in a Devils Arms by Julie Anne Long but it was slow going because I’m not in the mood for another historical so I kept putting it down. I finally tried starting another book to see if I can boot my ass out of an oncoming reading slump and so far, it seems to be working. I’m almost done with The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas and I should be finishing it up within the next day or two. I won’t be reading anything this weekend since my sisters and the rest of my lady family will be in town for a bridal shower so I’ll be finishing this one up on Monday or Tuesday. Wish me luck!

I’ve been reading a ton of MC romances. I finished up Devney Perry’s Tin Gypsy series. I’m just waiting for Tin Queen, which is the last book in the series. I’m super excited to read it. I’ve gone back to Jessica Gadziala’s Henchmen MC series. I’m reading Repo & am really enjoying it. It’s about a female prospect which is something I haven’t read before.

I’m still listening to Eternal by Lisa Scottoline. The narrators are fantastic, but I’m not much of a historical fiction person.

Holly

I finished listening to Ain’t She a Peach by Molly Harper, then finished out the series by listening to Save a Truck, Ride a Redneck. I definitely recommend the series if you’re in the mood for fun Southern contemporary romance.

I finished reading Everlong by Hailey Edwards, then read the next two books in the series, Evermine and Eversworn. This is not my favorite series from Edwards. I enjoyed certain aspects of each book, but I doubt I will ever re-read them.

Rowena

This week is for reading my book club book and I finished my re-read of our July book last night. We’re reading Lady Derring Takes a Lover by Julie Anne Long and though I read it not too long ago, I still really enjoyed it this time around. Today, I plan on stepping away from my computer for an hour and actually take a lunch break to start the second book in this series, Angel in a Devil’s Arms. I’m pretty sure that I’ll enjoy that book as well so I’m excited to start it.

I finished Last Guard by Nalini Singh this week and absolutely loved it. I’m reading Killer by Jessica Gadziala. It was the first book I picked up by this author and I’m glad I put it down and read in order. I have so much love for Shooter and can’t wait for him to get his happy ending.

I’m trying to get excited about listening to Eternal by Lisa Scottoline. It’s for book club, but I just can’t muster up any excitement.

Holly

I finished The Unseen and then read The Adversary by Thea Harrison. I really enjoyed both, and I’m so glad the author didn’t stretch it out over four or five books as she initially intended. Dragos and Pia. <3

I found A Little Green Magic by Isabel Wroth while browsing my KU recommendations, and found it to be really cute. The first 40% or so was just okay, but it really picked up in the second half. This was a full HEA novel, but I immediately read the second book, A Little Dark Magic, afterward, since I was dying to know what happened with the next couple. I ended up enjoying it more than the first and I hope the author continues the series soon.

I like to listen to audiobooks while I’m on my commute, working, or doing household tasks, but lately I haven’t had the brainpower to focus on something new. I ended up listening to the first three Innkeeper Chronicles by Ilona Andrews, a series I’ve listened to many times before. Clean Sweep, Sweep in Peace and One Fell Sweep, then read Sweep of the Blade and Sweep with Me. I really hope we get another book soon.

After that I listened to Sweet Tea and Sympathy by Molly Harper, and started Ain’t She a Peach. This is another series I really like. The narrator is fabulous. If you haven’t, I recommend listening to the audiobooks. They’re very well done.

I tried reading The Redemption of Boaz Pritchard by Hailey Edwards, but I’m not ready to see him redeemed yet. I’m still too mad at him for what he did to Grier in the Beginner’s Guide to Necromancy series. I set that aside in favor of Everlong, the first book in the Daughters of Askara series by Hailey Edwards. I’m very early into it, but enjoying it so far.
