I’ve been reading a ton of MC romances. I finished up Devney Perry’s Tin Gypsy series. I’m just waiting for Tin Queen, which is the last book in the series. I’m super excited to read it. I’ve gone back to Jessica Gadziala’s Henchmen MC series. I’m reading Repo & am really enjoying it. It’s about a female prospect which is something I haven’t read before.

I’m still listening to Eternal by Lisa Scottoline. The narrators are fantastic, but I’m not much of a historical fiction person.

Holly

I finished listening to Ain’t She a Peach by Molly Harper, then finished out the series by listening to Save a Truck, Ride a Redneck. I definitely recommend the series if you’re in the mood for fun Southern contemporary romance.

I finished reading Everlong by Hailey Edwards, then read the next two books in the series, Evermine and Eversworn. This is not my favorite series from Edwards. I enjoyed certain aspects of each book, but I doubt I will ever re-read them.

Rowena

This week is for reading my book club book and I finished my re-read of our July book last night. We’re reading Lady Derring Takes a Lover by Julie Anne Long and though I read it not too long ago, I still really enjoyed it this time around. Today, I plan on stepping away from my computer for an hour and actually take a lunch break to start the second book in this series, Angel in a Devil’s Arms. I’m pretty sure that I’ll enjoy that book as well so I’m excited to start it.

I finished Last Guard by Nalini Singh this week and absolutely loved it. I’m reading Killer by Jessica Gadziala. It was the first book I picked up by this author and I’m glad I put it down and read in order. I have so much love for Shooter and can’t wait for him to get his happy ending.

I’m trying to get excited about listening to Eternal by Lisa Scottoline. It’s for book club, but I just can’t muster up any excitement.

Holly

I finished The Unseen and then read The Adversary by Thea Harrison. I really enjoyed both, and I’m so glad the author didn’t stretch it out over four or five books as she initially intended. Dragos and Pia. <3

I found A Little Green Magic by Isabel Wroth while browsing my KU recommendations, and found it to be really cute. The first 40% or so was just okay, but it really picked up in the second half. This was a full HEA novel, but I immediately read the second book, A Little Dark Magic, afterward, since I was dying to know what happened with the next couple. I ended up enjoying it more than the first and I hope the author continues the series soon.

I like to listen to audiobooks while I’m on my commute, working, or doing household tasks, but lately I haven’t had the brainpower to focus on something new. I ended up listening to the first three Innkeeper Chronicles by Ilona Andrews, a series I’ve listened to many times before. Clean Sweep, Sweep in Peace and One Fell Sweep, then read Sweep of the Blade and Sweep with Me. I really hope we get another book soon.

After that I listened to Sweet Tea and Sympathy by Molly Harper, and started Ain’t She a Peach. This is another series I really like. The narrator is fabulous. If you haven’t, I recommend listening to the audiobooks. They’re very well done.

I tried reading The Redemption of Boaz Pritchard by Hailey Edwards, but I’m not ready to see him redeemed yet. I’m still too mad at him for what he did to Grier in the Beginner’s Guide to Necromancy series. I set that aside in favor of Everlong, the first book in the Daughters of Askara series by Hailey Edwards. I’m very early into it, but enjoying it so far.

I’m reading several books. I’ve been bouncing back between Jessica Gadziala & Devney Perry. I love, love, love both of these authors. I’m currently reading For a Good Time, Call… (Scars #1) by Jessica Gadziala. For book club I am reading The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. I tried it on audio first and the narrator was atrocious so I just started reading it. It’s a very quick read though it has really made me think about the way our lives can change based on decisions we make.

I’ve been listening to the Tin Gypsy series by Devney Perry. I listened to Gypsy King (Tin Gypsy #1) last week & have Riven Knight (Tin Gypsy #2) to start next. I loved the narrator of Gypsy King. Riven Knight has different narrators & I’m really hoping that I like them. Fingers crossed.

I didn’t have a lot of time to read this week. I read, Wolfish Charms, the second book in the Ever Dark, Ever Deadly series by Jenna Collett. I liked it better than the first book. I definitely recommend it. I re-read Hot as Hades by Alisha Rai and Heartbreaker by Linda Howard. I haven’t decided what I’m going to read next. I’m kind of in the mood for a SciFi, so I might see if I can find something similar to Polaris Rising. Let me know if you have any recommendations.

My reading has been absolute crap this week. I went home to California for Father’s Day weekend to spend some time with my Dad and then this week, I’ve been training the new girl at work so I’ve been pretty exhausted afterward. On top of that, I have my nephew from California spending the week here with me in Vegas. We’re going to Top Golf and eating Korean corndogs today so that should be fun.

I’m still reading The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary and I’m hoping to finish it up over the weekend. Wish me luck! Afterward, I’ll be jumping into my copy of So We Meet Again by Suzanne Park.

What Are You Reading? (569)

Casee: I’m still binging Jessica Gadziala. I finished Mark last night & started Eli. I love the Mallick Brothers.

I’m going to be in the car for awhile today so I’m going to listen to a couple books. The Midnight Library by Matt Haig & possibly Gypsy King by Devney Perry.

Holly: After I finished Married by Morning, I decided I was finished binge-reading Lisa Kleypas. I reread the Alpha & Omega novella by Patricia Briggs, and then I hit a wall. I couldn’t decide what I wanted to read. I read several samples and started several books before I finally settled on Don’t Hex and Drive by Juliette Cross, the second book in her Stay a Spell series. I enjoyed it, but not as much as the first book in the series, Wolf Gone Wild. Then I read Spellbound After Midnight by Jenna Collett, the first book in the Ever Dark, Ever Deadly series (currently available on Kindle Unlimited), which was pretty good. Kind of campy in places, but well written. I finished Shifters in the Night by Molly Harper on audio. I liked it, but not as much as the other books in the series.

Rowena: Ugh, sorry guys. I’m late to the party this week even though I swore to get this posted today (and on time), sigh. Anyway, this week has been a pretty busy week for me since my daughter starts working with my company on Monday and I’ve been answering non-stop questions from her and helping her get situated and prepared for her first day.

I did get some reading done though. Last week, I read Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase (good re-read though I didn’t like Dain as much this time around), I also read Worth Any Price by Lisa Kleypas since my book besties were reading it too and enjoyed that one as well. Now, I’m reading The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary because I’ve been meaning to read this book for ages now. So far, it’s pretty good and I’m hoping to get it done sometime this weekend. We’ll see how that goes though.

It’s Friday & it feels so good. I have been a reading machine this week. I read two books. Yep. Two books. I’m still reading the Mallick Brothers series by Jessica Gadziala. I finished Ryan (#2) & am about halfway through Mark (#3). I am really looking forward to reading Eli (#4).

I listened to The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave. It was really, really good. I’m going to be starting The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. Both books are for bookclub.

Holly

I am still re-reading Lisa Kleypas. I tried a few other books, but none held my attention so I gave into the inevitable. I finished Devil in Spring, then read Devil’s Daughter and I Will. I took a break to re-read Lord of Scoundrels by Lorretta Chase for my book club this weekend, then started re-reading The Hathaways series. I finished Mine Till Midnight, Seduce Me at Sunrise and Tempt Me at Twilight, and I’m just about to start Married by Morning. It’s been great revisiting these characters.

I was listening to Duke in Shining Armor by Lorretta Chase, but I set it aside in favor of Shifters in the Night by Molly Harper on audio, the latest in her Mystic Bayou series (included in Audible Plus).

Rowena

Happy Friday, y’all! I finished Devil in Disguise by Lisa Kleypas and now I’m reading Lord of Scoundrel by Loretta Chase. It’s a re-read for me and I remember loving it so much the first time I read and this time around? You bet your bottom dollar I still love the hell out of it. Jessica is the best!! I’m also still reading The Siren’s Lament but I took a break from that this week to watch The Conjuring movies.

I think I’m going to jump back in my review pile next, probably read So We Meet Again by Suzanne Park and Battle Royal by Lucy Parker.
