Casee: I’m still reading Lethal Lies by Rebecca Zanetti. Reading is not going well this month. Send help.

Holly: This week I ended up re-reading Magic Bites, Magic Burns and Magic Strikes by Ilona Andrews. I didn’t really intend to re-read the series, but here we are. I started several other books, but none held my attention.

Rowena: I only read one book this week and it was a re-read of Dreaming of You by Lisa Kleypas. I adored reading it again and am looking forward to discussing it with Ames. Now, I’m reading Moon Called by Patricia Briggs so that I can review it with Holly. It’s the first book in the Mercy Thompson series and I hear it’s a great series so I’m looking forward to it and so far, it’s pretty good. I should be done with it tomorrow. That’s it for me though. I hope this is a sign that my reading is going to pick up next week because so far, April has been really bad for me.

Casee: April has been such a slow reading month for me. I’m really disappointed in myself. I just finished Wired by Julie Garwood and she just doesn’t do it for me anymore. Her suspense is just meh. And her romance? It’s tepid. I’m reading Lethal Lies by Rebecca Zanetti. It’s a spin-off of her Sin Brothers series or as I like to call it, her Dean Brothers series. It’s already a step up because the heroine isn’t TSTL. Hopefully this coming up week will be better than the last.

Holly: I reread Moon Called by Patricia Briggs this week, which prompted a reread of Alpha and Omega and Cry Wolf. Now I’m going to start A Hidden Fire by Elizabeth Hunter (currently free for Kindle users). I haven’t read her before, but Ames recommended the series, so I’m hopeful.

Rowena: Poor Rowena isn’t reading anything right now. Let’s all take a moment of silence for her lost reading mojo.

Casee: April has been a slow reading month for me, unfortunately. I’m hoping it will pick up. I’m reading The Chosen by J.R. Ward. I’m about halfway through. It’s pretty good, but it’s not grabbing me. Usually I can’t put these books down once I pick them up. This one has it’s usual slew of secondary characters. It is a good book, but I just can’t seem to sit down and take the time to finish it.

Holly: I started reading the Arcadia Bell series by Jenn Bennett this week. Kindling the Moon is the first book. I really struggled to get into it. The heroine acted really young and I had a hard time connecting with her. I immediately started the second book Summoning the Night thinking she’d be better in the second book, but I DNF’d it before the 4th chapter. I just couldn’t with the heroine. I started Ruthless by Lexi Blake, which both Casee and Rowena recommended, but I’m not really into it. I’m not really feeling contemporary romance right now, so I plan to come back to it later.

Rowena: It’s been a slow reading week for me. I DNF’d Charmed Thirds by Meg Cafferty because I just wasn’t in the mood for it and then I started Corrupted by Penelope Douglas, a book that has gotten such high praise from pretty much every book blogger that I follow, who has read it and let’s just say…it wasn’t for me. I tried to stick it out but ended up putting it down for good when it was bringing my reading jam down. I started Dreaming of You by Lisa Kleypas last night and so far, that book has kept my attention so I’m glad that this re-read seems to be doing the trick. After this book, I plan to jump into Moon Called by Patricia Briggs. Wish me luck!

Casee: It’s been slow going for me this past week. It’s spring break at my house. We went on a road trip and there wasn’t a whole lot of reading time. It took me over a week to read Revenge by Lexi Blake. I finally finished it yesterday and it was fantastic. It’s not the end of the Lawless series, which I’m happy about. I will never get enough of that family.

I’m getting ready to start The Darkest Promise by Gena Showalter. I love the Lords of the Underworld. I’ve been looking forward to this book for awhile now.

Holly: I DNF’d two books this week. Elemental Mating by Milly Taiden is something I found while browsing NetGalley. It sounded really good, but it turned a little woo-woo for me. Plus, the hero and heroine both made so many ridiculous choices based on the circumstances they were in. I can generally set aside all disbelief when reading a PNR, but I just couldn’t this time. When An Alpha Purrs by Eve Langlais is one I downloaded free ages ago. I’m glad I didn’t pay for it. It was way too fluffy for me. The heroine is a hairdresser who gets angry at the hero and hacks off a hunk of his hair. In the first chapter. Ten minutes after meeting him. He was being arrogant and a jerk, true, but the sheer unprofessional-ism of the act just flat killed the book for me.

Aside from those two, I re-read Own the Wind by Kristen Ashley and Fire Touched and Silence Fallen by Patricia Briggs.

I’m still hunting for another UF series similar to Briggs (or the Kate Daniels series). Feel free to shoot me some recs!

Rowena: My reading slowed down some this week because I was trying to force myself to read past 20% of a book that was just pissing me off and I’m shocked as shit to say that I DNF’d my first Lauren Layne book. I started Frisk Me with the intention of reading all three books in that series but the heroine pissed me off, the hero made me roll my eyes and about 30% into the book, I tossed in the towel. I am now reading Charmed Thirds by Megan McCafferty, a book that I’ve been meaning to read forEVER and so far, I’m liking it. I should be finished with this book tonight and then I’ll probably move on to Fourth Comings.

Casee: This has been a terrible reading week for me. I finished Shadow Reaper by Christine Feehan which I found somewhat boring and rather tedious. I started Revenge by Lexi Blake, which is really good, but I just haven’t sat down and really let myself get into it. Which is annoying me. I’m annoying myself.

Holly: This week I read Shadow Reaper by Christine Feehan. It was just okay. I didn’t dislike it, but I didn’t love it, either. I re-read Clean Sweep, Sweep in Peace and One Fell Sweep by Ilona Andrews and Fairytale Come Alive by Kristen Ashley. I have a bunch of great books on tap, but nothing is really grabbing me. March is usually a great reading month for me. I need to get out of this weird funk I’m in.

Rowena: I’m finishing up Midnight Target by Elle Kennedy and while I’m not a fan of Cate, I’m a big fan of everyone else on the team and I’ve spent quite a bit of the book, wanting to karate chop Cate’s head right off her stupid head. I’m enjoying the book, especially the angst going on between Boston and Sully. Their coming together is going to be epic and I can’t wait. After this, I’m jumping right into my eARC of Walk of Shame by Lauren Layne. I love this woman’s books like no other and I’m seriously anxious to start that book. I just know it’s going to be good, good, good.

That’s it on my end. The month of March has been a fabulous reading month for me and this week wasn’t any different so I’m one happy camper right now. I hope that I finish March out strong.
