Rowena: Everyone on the blog is on vacation this week so you guys are stuck with me. I’m the lone wolf and I’m only a little bit salty about that. Everyone is off having fun and I’m at…work. 🙁 Haha, I already took my vacation though so I’ll survive.
My reading picked up this week and it’s all Jenny Han’s fault. I started To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before for a buddy review with Ames and then I just kept right on reading the other books in the series. I couldn’t stop. I had to know what else happens to Lara Jean and Peter, now that I’m completely done with the series, I’m not ready to move on yet so I haven’t. I plan on starting A Duke by Default by Alyssa Cole today. I’ve been saying that for the last two days but I haven’t picked it up yet. Wish me luck.

Wanted: Governess for duke's unruly children
Edgar Rochester, Duke of Banksford, is one of the wealthiest, most powerful men in England, but when it comes to raising twins alone, he knows he needs help. The only problem is the children have chased away half the governesses in London. Until the clever, bold, and far-too-enticing Miss Mari Perkins arrives.
Lost: One heart to an arrogant duke
Mari knows how to wrap even the most rebellious children around her finger. But their demanding, wickedly handsome father? He won't be quite so easy to control. And there's something else she can't seem to command. Her heart. The foolish thing beats so wildly every time the duke is near.
Found: A forbidden passion neither can deny
As his employee, Mari is strictly off-limits. But what if she's the one breaking all his rules? In the game of governess versus duke, how can Edgar maintain his defenses when the only thing he wants to do is let the tempting beauty win?

Okay, Rowena ~ I’ll wish you luck with starting (and finishing) A Duke by Default.
Some recent reads here ~
— finished my re-read of Anne Bishop’s the Others quintet with Etched in Bone.
— The Professor and the Madman: A Tale of Murder, Insanity, and the Making of the Oxford English Dictionary by Simon Winchester for my book group; I enjoyed it. This was the first Simon Winchester book I’ve read, but I’d happily read more by this author.
— I realized early in the week that I had about eighty unread book samples on my Kindle, so I’ve spent a goodly amount of time recently reading those. (That would probably count as three or four books in terms of pages read!)
— finished a re-read of Marie Sexton’s Winter Oranges which I enjoyed once again. This is a non-scary, not quite ghost story, that features two men.
Aw poor Rowena – all on your little ownsome 😀 Does it echo when you shout?!
My reading muse has run away, has not stopped me buying, when it returns bedraggled and telling tall tales of its adventures I will have some good books stacked up to get started on!
the warrior of clan kinkaid arc
Let’s see I’ve got a few current reads: Jessica Scott is serializing After the War via newsletter this month — I’m becoming addicted to her books. I’m also reading The Rake’s Handbook (Sally Orr) in paperback at home and Gina Conkle’s The Lord Finds His Lady on Kindle. Its been awhile since I’ve read multiple books at once
I’m reading Death Below Stairs by Jennifer Ashley.
not much
I’ve just started The Rock by Monica McCarty. I’m enjoying it so far.
I am listening to The Kiss Quotient on audiobook and reading Have Dog, Will Travel, a Poets’s Journey. I am enjoying both!
Listening to Killer Instinct by Katie Reus and reading an ARC by Kerrigan Byrne, The Duke With the Dragon Tattoo.
