View Spoiler »I was really bothered in the previous book about the way the mind control aspect was written and that carried over here. Here’s this abhorrent power that Lyra despised, yet she took it for herself and then started using it? It didn’t make sense considering the events in the previous books. It’s possible things got better as the book went on, but I had to quit when she decides she’s just going to accept the power for “a year” and then get rid of it. No thanks. « Hide Spoiler
