Rowena: I read a whole lot this week.  It’s weird because I love my TV Shows and I usually spend a couple of hours every night, watching something.  That didn’t happen this week because all I wanted to do was read books.  I read so much that I’m now 15 books ahead in my Goodreads reading goal for the year.

Seriously, yay me!

I read Where the Stars Still Shine by Trish Doller, which was good but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I enjoyed her previous release Something Like Normal.  It was a good story but for some reason, I didn’t connect with the main character as much as I hoped I would.  I also read Things I Can’t Forget by Miranda Kenneally which was good even though the main character was hard to take throughout a lot of the book.  Her religion shaped her thoughts and her interactions with those around her and sometimes I wanted to shake some sense into her but eventually, she stopped getting on my nerves and I ended up liking the book.  I can’t wait for the next book.  After, I read Deeper We Fall by Chelsea M. Cameron.  There must have been something in the books that I read this week because the main character in this book got on my hot damn nerves.  I didn’t like her in the entire first part of the book.  She gets better but even in the end, I wasn’t her biggest fan.  Still, I enjoyed the book.  Sidelined by Kendra C. Highley is up next and once again, that main character…hard to take.  She frustrated me throughout the entire book.

I read Breaking Nova by Jessica Sorensen and OMG, I didn’t like that book at all.  Surprised the heck out of me since I adore Jessica Sorensen’s books but I’m finding that her abrupt endings are starting to get on my nerves.

I also read Gwynneth Ever After by Linda Poitevin because I needed a change of pace from all of the YA and NA books that I was reading.  This was a sweet romance that I was glad I read because it was different and just what I needed to cleanse my reading palate.  And then I read Play by Play by Kate Donovan and that book was just not for me.  I didn’t like it.  My review will follow soon(er or later).

Holly:I’m doing a reread of Moon Called by Patricia Briggs. I think I finally burned out on NA. After binge reading them for months the thought of starting another makes me a little depressed. Briggs is always a favorite and I figured I could cleanse my mind this way.
