Casee: Somehow during the busiest time of the year, I have carved out a few minutes here and there to read. I’m reading two books. The first one is a political book. Because this is a safe place, I won’t mention which one. I will say that it is an interesting book. I’m also still reading Year One by Nora Roberts. Given how long I have been looking forward to this book, I cannot believe that I have not devoured it.
Holly: I’ve had no reading time this week. I started The Hookup by Kristen Ashley, but I only managed to get a few pages read. After Christmas I’m on vacation for a week. I plan to do nothing but read.
Rowena is dealing with a family emergency this week. Hopefully she’ll be back next week.
What are you reading this week? Any new favorites or books that drove you crazy? Share!
Yeah this time of year, I don’t do a ton of reading until after Christmas, I do have quite a few blog posts to write up though. I have heard that The Hookup is just awesome though.
Sending hugs and best wishes to Rowena
My terrible fall has finally come to a close, and I actually had time to read this week for the first time in a long time! Holly, I finally read Elemental Mating, and while I might not have disliked it as much as you, it wasn’t really my thing either. Just meh. Continuing my unexplainable scottish kick, I read The Devil Wears Plain by Teresa Medeiros (ok but the hero was kind of a jerk and I didn’t think he totally redeemed himself) and Highland Conquest by Alyson McLayne (not out yet, second in a series, ok but not amazing either). Then I read The Enforcer by Helenkay Dimon because I need to catch up on the Games People Play series so I can read my review copy of the one that’s coming out next! I really liked this one, though I didn’t quite love it like I did the first one in the series. The hero is kind of similar to the first hero, so we’ll see whether the series stays fresh or not.
Thinking about you Rowena! <3
Does this men you will be back soon? With reviews?
Yuletide Felicitations to you 😀
Willa, haha I have a ton of reviews I need to write so hopefully yes! 🙂
Start with the RS ones first 😀
Does this mean you will be back soon? With reviews?
Yuletide Felicitations to you 😀
Sending good thoughts your way, Rowena. And wishing you all happy holidays and a wonderful 2018.
Not too much reading here ~
— enjoyed Critical Instinct (Instinct Series) by Janie Crouch; I’d read more by this author.
— Nora Roberts’ Year One: Chronicles of the One. It was quite readable but not what I would call an uplifting story, nor was it a romance though it featured several love stories within. I’ll happily read the next book when it comes out (I’m wondering if it will be titled Year Thirteen), but I don’t believe I’ll be re-reading this book anytime soon.
— re-read Lisa Kleypas’ Surrender which is a story from an old Avon collection, Christmas Love Stories. It’s one of the author’s earlier works; her writing has become more refined with time. (How’s that for an elegant way of saying that this is an early work and it shows?)
— the male/male holiday romance novella, Twinkle, Twinkle by Josephine Myles; it was a pleasant read.
— read Special Delivery by Heidi Cullinan which is a male/male romance. The story dealt to a large extent with a young man becoming independent. It was a pleasant story, but I don’t think I’ll be re-reading it soon.
