Casee: I’m still reading Lethal Lies by Rebecca Zanetti. Reading is not going well this month. Send help.
Holly: This week I ended up re-reading Magic Bites, Magic Burns and Magic Strikes by Ilona Andrews. I didn’t really intend to re-read the series, but here we are. I started several other books, but none held my attention.
Rowena: I only read one book this week and it was a re-read of Dreaming of You by Lisa Kleypas. I adored reading it again and am looking forward to discussing it with Ames. Now, I’m reading Moon Called by Patricia Briggs so that I can review it with Holly. It’s the first book in the Mercy Thompson series and I hear it’s a great series so I’m looking forward to it and so far, it’s pretty good. I should be done with it tomorrow. That’s it for me though. I hope this is a sign that my reading is going to pick up next week because so far, April has been really bad for me.
What are you reading this week? Any new favorites or books that drove you crazy? Share!
I absolutely did not have time to read, but I spent an afternoon reading anyway. (I’ll pay for it this weekend with my homework, though. Sigh.) I read the final book in Nora Roberts’ Guardians trilogy, Island of Glass. I had a few frustrations with it but boy was it what my brain needed–a fun fantasy.
Some recent reads here ~
— the contemporary romance A Sure Thing (The Donnigans) by Marie Harte. It was a pleasant read, but it’s not likely a book I’ll be re-reading.
— Eden: A sci-fi Beauty and the Beast by Louise Wise about which I’d heard many good reports. It was pleasant enough, but I doubt I’ll be re-reading it.
— a re-read of Wrecking Ball (Hard To Love Book 1) by P. Dangelico which I enjoyed once again. Fans of Mariana Zapata might enjoy this one.
— re-read Lauren Dane’s Tart (A Delicious Novel) which I enjoyed revisiting even though it’s not my favorite of her books.
— for my book group: The Jump-Off Creek by Molly Gloss. Initially, I found the book rather dismal, but I ultimately ended up enjoying it. It’s written in a plain style with no frills. As a lover of romance, I wanted a happy ending but it wasn’t that kind of book.
— The Thing About Love by Julie James (which I won here!. It’s not my favorite by the author, but I definitely enjoyed it and will doubtless be re-reading it.
— paranormal male/male romance Insight (The Community Book 1) by Santino Hassell. I enjoyed the book and will happily read as the series continues.
— Until Now (the Not Yet series Book 2) by Laura Ward. It’s a contemporary new adult romance which I enjoyed. The book is currently free to Kindle readers.
I love doing rereads, and Dreaming of You is one I have read a few times! I am finally reading Devil in Spring, also by Lisa Kleypas. I will be finishing it in a day. 🙂
