Casee: I just finished The Angels’ Share by J.R. Ward and it was so good. I’m addicted to that series. I don’t know how long we have to wait for another book, but I’m assuming it’s a year. Yesterday I started Wild Embrace by Nalini Singh. I don’t usually read novellas. They just don’t satisfy me like a full length book does. This is a set of novella’s. I’m really enjoying them. Especially Felix and Dezi’s story. After I finish that, I’m going to start Sting by Sandra Brown. I haven’t read her in ages, but the blurb definitely caught my eye.
Holly: I finally started reading again. It’s been over a month since I’ve had time/felt the drive to read. I was starting to worry my reading mojo had taken a permanent vacation. So far I’ve only re-read a couple books and I’m about halfway through Guardian’s Mate by Jennifer Ashley, but the fact that I want to read makes all the difference. Let’s hope I get some binge reading done this week.
Rowena: The first book I read in August was Wild Embrace by Nalini Singh. It was a good collection of novellas from the Psy/Changeling series and I enjoyed it. My favorite read in the entire book was Kenji and Garnet’s story. I loved finding out what happened between Kenji and Garnet and then seeing Garnet go get her man. Happy sigh. I’m just about finished reading No Mistress of Mine by Laura Lee Guhrke and then I’m going to jump into Sarah MacLean’s The Rogue Not Taken. I have the second book in the series for review but I need to read the first book first. I’m excited. Yay.
What are you reading this week? Any new favorites or books that drove you crazy? Share!
I just finished Vows of Revenge by Dani Collins, which was great, and am now back to Midnight Man by Lisa Marie Rice. Don’t always like her formula, but she does it so well here.
Holly, I’m very jealous that you have a copy of Guardian’s Mate. I just read White Tiger and it had a teaser for Guardian’s Mate at the end so that’s definitely on the wishlist. I also read a fun romance called Tapping the Billionaire by Max Monroe. This is apparently a collaboration between two romance authors but they haven’t revealed who they are. It was one of those fun, flirty books with lots of banter and a really sweet, nice guy hero.
Right now, I’m in the middle of a lovely story called The Wedding Bees: A Novel of Honey, Love, and Manners by Sarah-Kate Lynch. It’s not really a romance, more LitFic, but definitely has romantic elements. I’m really enjoying it.
— I finished Genevieve Cogman’s The Invisible Library (The Invisible Library Novel) which I had started last week.
— Read and enjoyed Mary Balogh’s older historical romance Secrets of the Heart.
— My husband and I listened to the exceedingly profane Sh*t My Dad Says by Justin Halpern. We both laughed a lot, but this audio book is definitely not for everyone.
— I read and enjoyed the incredibly long, fascinating, disconcerting, and gripping book The Last Hour of Gann.
I also just finished The Invisible Library. I enjoyed it, but the world building lost me in a few places. Now I’m re-reading The Burning Sky the first in the Elemental Trilogy by Sherry Thomas, before reading the last two books, since I had little memory of what happened in it.
I just finished Just Kiss Me by Rachel Gibson and The Angels’ Share by J.R. Ward. I enjoyed both books.
