I’ve been reading the Forgotten Brotherhood series by N.J. Walters. I just finished Arctic Bite (Forgotten Brotherhood #2). I was going to read Burning Ash (Forgotten Brotherhood #3), but I couldn’t get it downloaded on my Kindle for some reason. I decided to read Storm Echo (Psy-Changeling Trinity #6) by Nalini Singh.
I have Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover to listen to, but I heard that her books are really emotional. Since I’m not really in the mood for that, I’m going to listen to Devil in Spring (Ravenels #3) by Lisa Kleypas.

I finished Undying Stars by Anna Carven. It was just okay. It kind of felt like a placeholder novel in the series. Then I read Dragons are a Girl’s Best Friend by Isla Frost, a new-to-me author. I enjoyed it enough to immediately jump into the second book, All Is Faerie in Love and War, which ended up frustrating me. The book is well written, but the storyline left me feeling angry. I was curious enough to start the third book, Vampires Will Be Vampires, but I quickly DNF’d it once I realized it had a similar theme to the previous book.
On the recommendation of Ames, I read and really enjoyed One Percent of You by Michelle Gross, another new-to-me author. It was a sweet, single-mom contemporary romance. I am now re-reading Smoke Bitten by Patricia Briggs, so I can go back to Soul Taken.
Over the past week ~
— the historical romance, Fortune Favors the Duke (Cambridge Brotherhood Book 1) by Kristin Vayden; this was a pleasant book but not one I’m likely to reread. Prior to his death, the female lead is engaged to the brother of the male lead. It’s described as a sweet (closed door) romance.
— a book that I quite enjoyed, See You Yesterday by Rachel Lynn Solomon. It features two college students who are trapped in a time loop and live the same day over and over again.
— stayed up late finishing A Grave Calling (Bodies of Evidence Book 1) by Wendy Roberts. I enjoyed this mystery featuring a woman who finds the dead by dowsing; it managed to surprise me. Content warnings for alcoholism, physical abuse, and murders.
— read a second (unrelated) book by the same author: Grounds to Kill by Wendy Roberts. It was enjoyable, but I preferred the prior book.
— Another late night as I stayed up to finish Funny You Should Ask: A Novel by Elissa Sussman. I quite enjoyed this book and could well reread it. The leads were a journalist and the movie star she interviewed ten years ago; the story takes place in the past and present.
I just started Julianna Keyes’s BIG WILD LOVE ADVENTURE, a romance set on a Survival-type reality tv show. I’m not a big fan of reality tv, but I’m a big fan of Keyes (she wrote one of my all-time favorite romances, TIME SERVED).
