What Are You Reading? (586)

I am reading an eARC of Annihilation Road by Christine Feehan. It is the sixth installment of her Torpedo Ink series and the first of a duo within the series. I haven’t decided if I’m going to read Savage Road next or go to something different. I’m thinking something different because these books are dark af.

I’ve been listening to Julie Garwood historicals on audio. They are absolutely brilliant on audio. I finished The Secret and feel like it was the first time I read it. I’m listening to The Bride now.

I reread most of the Ivy Years series by Sarina Bowen; The Year We Fell Down, The Year We Hid Away, Blonde Date, The Understatement of the Year and The Shameless Hour. I also listened to One Fell Sweep and Sweep of the Blade by Ilona Andrews.

I am currently reading Priceless by Shannon Mayer, a new-to-me author. I’m early into it, but so far it’s good.

What are you reading this week? Any new favorites or books that drove you crazy? Share!

I really like the Ivy Years series; they include my favorite Sarina Bowen titles.

    Since last week ~

    — continued with the young adult series I began last week and read A Traitor in Skyhold: Mage Errant Book 3 by John Bierce; I enjoyed it but may take a break to read other things.
    — Someone to Cherish (The Westcott Series Book 8) by Mary Balogh. I came very close to abandoning the book in chapter one; however, I’m glad that I continued on as I did enjoy it. Why did I almost give it up? This is book eight in a series and each book features a different couple in the greater Westcott family; I’ve read several of the earlier books. Chapter one featured a huge crowd from those earlier books plotting the hero’s future; all were named (there must have been two dozen or more) and it was tiresome. My suggestion if you read this book is to begin with chapter two.
    — reread Carla Kelly’s Christmas Collection which I enjoyed once again.

I’m about halfway through Jewel E. Ann’s NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. It’s an age-gap with older-heroine story that straddles the line between romance and women’s fiction.

@Kareni: LOL—you always make me laugh with your comments about titles! I think I should have taken the advice of the title: it was really not what I expected because I was expecting a standard romance and the story really leans toward women’s fiction (especially the somewhat ambiguous HFN ending).
