I’m currently reading a new-to-me series & author called Wrecked by Catherine Cowles. I’m reading Wrecked Palace (Wrecked #3). It’s a contemporary series set on a small chain of islands off the Washington coast. They are very intense, emotional books. I honestly think I cried when I read the first one. I’m not generally a crier when I read so it was somewhat surprising.

I’ve been listening to the Fight for Me series by A.L. Jackson. They are rereads.

I’ve had very little reading time this month, so I’ve mostly just been listening to old favorites when I can spare a few minutes. I did manage to read Ruin of Roses by K.F. Breene. I didn’t love it, but I enjoyed it enough that I’ll continue with the series. I also re-read A Heart of Blood and Ashes by Milla Vane, Down London Road and Castle Hill by Samantha Young.

For audiobooks, I finished Good Boy by Sarina Bowen, then listened to Sustained by Emma Chase, a forever favorite. The story is great and I love the narrator. Since then I’ve been listening to old Julie Garwood favorites. I finished The Secret, Honor’s Splendour, Saving Grace and The Wedding.

Most of my reading this week was the six-book Bootleg Springs series by Claire Kingsley & Lucy Score (published in 2018 & 2019). Each book is a self-contained romance set in Bootleg Springs, West Virginia, but there’s an overarching mystery that threads through all the books about a girl who went missing many years ago. I am currently midway through the fifth book, GIN FLING, and there’s quite a bit of suspense being ratcheted up as more information about what happened to the missing girl is coming to light.

    Over the past week ~

    — The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren; this was a contemporary romance which I quite enjoyed.
    — enjoyed The Physicians of Vilnoc by Lois McMaster Bujold. (This is a series that needs to be read in order. Begin with Penric’s Demon.)
    — the book that my local book group selected, The Overstory: A Novel by Richard Powers. This was a lengthy but fascinating book. Initially it seemed that it was a collection of stories all of which featured trees; however, ultimately it all tied together.
    — Death Can Be Habit-Forming: Another John Pickett Mystery (John Pickett Mysteries Book 11) by Sheri Cobb South which I quite enjoyed. This is the latest book in a series that should be read in order. Begin with the FREE book In Milady’s Chamber: A John Pickett Mystery (John Pickett Mysteries Book 1) .
    — Uncommon Ground (Aliens in New York Book 1) by Kelly Jensen; I found it an enjoyable contemporary science fiction romance with two male leads.

I finally read a Tee O’Fallon K9 action book – Lock and Load and really enjoyed it. I also had fun with Tawna Fenske’s Show Down. Oh and I read Lorraine Heath’s The Duchess Hunt. Luckily no bad reading the past couple weeks. I’m sure that will change when I start reading holiday anthologies….
