I’ve been reading the same author for the entire month. Jessica Gadziala writes The Henchmen MC series, which I’ve been reading non-stop. I decided to mix it up a little after finishing one & decided to go with Shane by Jessica Gadziala. I love that these books have been out for awhile, because I’m glomming the hell out of them.
I’m listening to a book for bookclub – The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave. I love the narrator & the story is compelling. It has me on the edge of my seat, something that I’ve missed feeling for a while.

I didn’t have the time or energy to delve into anything new, so I did a lot of re-reading this week. I read Forbidden by Beverly Jenkins for my book club. I’m not a fan of historical westerns usually, but I really enjoyed it. After a discussion about old favorites with friends, I re-read Worth Any Price by Lisa Kleypas. It’s always been one of my favorite of her novels, and it held up very well. I love Nick and Lottie. I also re-read Fairytale Come Alive and Soaring by Kristen Ashely.

Gah. I meant to have this up earlier and I got so busy that time got away from me. I picked up Demon Slayer, vol. 11 and re-read that one so that I can jump into Vol. 12. I’m still waiting on vol. 13 so that I can continue the series but it’s taking too damn long. I do plan on jumping into To Sir with Love by Lauren Layne, for reals this time.
I’m reading Ruth Cardello’s HE SAID ALWAYS, the start of a new series called The Lost Corisis. While searching for a lost relative, the hero falls in love with the relative’s best friend—a woman who has many secrets. It’s good so far. I have about four books lined up after that—I’m hoping I can get through them by June 1 when the new Harlequin Dare and Presents ebooks drop.
Over the past week ~
— enjoyed rereading the entire Linesman trilogy ~ Linesman, Alliance, and Confluence by S. K. Dunstall. This is one of my favorite series.
— The End of Men by Christina Sweeney-Baird; what a gripping yet sobering book. The story is set in 2025, and the world suffers a plague that kills 90% of males/Y-chromosome bearers. While reading, I wondered when it was written; I see from the author’s note that it was written between September 2018 and June 2019. It’s the author’s debut novel. When I was describing it to my husband, he said he wouldn’t be able to read it given parallels with real life. I don’t know if this is a book that I’d reread, but I recommend it. I will certainly look with interest at the author’s next book.
— quite enjoyed The Love Proof: A Novel by Madeleine Henry; I found it to be a quick read.
— enjoyed the most recent Murderbot novella, Fugitive Telemetry (The Murderbot Diaries Book 6) by Martha Wells; I might have been even happier were there more Sanctuary Moon!
— stayed up late and finished Dark Light (Elizabeth Cage, Book 2) by Jodi Taylor. I enjoyed it (but not quite as much as the first book); I look forward to reading the forthcoming third book in the series. This series definitely needs to be read in order. The first book in the series, White Silence, is still on sale for 99¢.
I’m reading Imagine Summer by Shelley Noble. It’s okay but is a book I will donate to the library when I am finished.
