Holly: I read more books this week! Hooray! I finished Protect the Prince by Jennifer Estep, then read Crush the King, the next book in the series. I also read The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle Jensen, an Audible Escape book that came up in my recommended reads. I ended up really enjoying it. I got impatient with the audiobook so I downloaded the Kindle version and only listened when I couldn’t read. Fair warning, it ends in a cliffhanger and while the second book, The Traitor Queen, is available in audio, the ebook won’t be released until September. I also re-read a couple books.
I’m listening to The Traitor Queen by Danielle Jensen now. I’m not sure which book I’m going to read yet.
Rowena: Considering the kind of reading weeks I’ve been having lately, things are starting to turn around (fingers crossed). I read one book this week but I made a concentrated effort to get back into a reading schedule and it’s working! I finished Magic Shifts by Ilona Andrews last night and I have already started on Magic Stars. I’m ready for Derek to be front and center of a story, even if it’s a short one. I love me some Derek! I only read a couple of pages because I was tired but I’ll finish that one up today and then jump into Magic Binds and I can’t wait!
What are you reading this week? Any new favorites or books that drove you crazy? Share!
Recent reads ~
— The Curse of Chalion and Paladin of Souls (Chalion Book 2) by Lois McMaster Bujold, two fantasies which I quite enjoyed.
— Road to the Sun (re-released as Ends of the Earth) by Keira Andrews; this was a pleasant male/male romance
I just finished reading A Merry Murder by Kate Kingsbury. It was okay.
