What Are You Reading? (503)

Casee: I’m finishing up Hold on to Hope by A.L. Jackson. You guys, I LOVE THIS AUTHOR. Love her. Adore her. Want to marry her. <3 Hold on to Hope is supposedly a stand-alone, but I don't think it is. It's part of Amy's Fight For Me series. The h/h were children in the first three books and now they’re grown up. At first I wasn’t sure about it because I loved these two as kids, but it is really working. When I finish HotH, I’m going to pick up Reaper by Larissa Ione. She hasn’t released a book in the Demonica Underworld series for years and I’m super excited.

I’m also listen to Where Lightning Strikes by (surprise, surprise) A.L. Jackson. It’s the third book in the Bleeding Hearts series. The series follows a tortured rock band. I love it. After I finish this up I’m not sure if I’m going to move onto the next book or find a new author to try. It’s a toss up.

Holly: I finished Silence for the Dead by Simone St. James, and loved it so much I immediately moved on to The Other Side of Midnight. I’m anxious to read more books by this author. She has a lovely way of telling a story, and I found them to be atmospheric and creepy, just as good Gothic novels should be. I also finished Warrior Fae Trapped by K.F. Breene, then Warrior Fae Princess. These were not the strongest entries in the series. I enjoyed Warrior Fae Trapped more than Warrior Fae Princess, but I doubt I’ll re-read either of them any time soon.

I’m currently listening to Saving Grace by Julie Garwood, a long-time favorite I plan to review with Rowena and Casee, and reading Spider’s Bite by Jennifer Estep. I’m very early into it, but I’ve heard great things.

Rowena: This week was another good reading week for me. I read Blitzed (The Playbook #3) by Alexa Martin and I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would, considering how much I enjoyed Fumbled. I still enjoyed it some though so it’s all good. After that, I listened to Getting Played (Getting Some #2) by Emma Chase and adored that book to pieces. I loved me some Dean and Jason and Lainie and just…everyone. So good. I also re-read Saving Grace by Julie Garwood for that review with Casee and Holly.

Right now, I’m finishing up Four Days of You and Me by Miranda Kenneally and then I’ll be jumping into A Madness of Sunshine by Nalini Singh and Don’t Break Me by Ash Ley. I can’t wait!

What are you reading this week? Any new favorites or books that drove you crazy? Share!

I just started Natasha Knight’s duet, COLLATERAL and DAMAGE. The story is very much of the Knight template: innocent daughter of mafia/crime boss forced into “revenge” marriage with rival crime boss. I know dark/mafia/forced-marriage isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I’m enjoying it so far.

I also have Karina Halle’s THE ROYAL ROGUE queued up. I love her royal romances. This one involves a prince, a princess, and an unplanned pregnancy.

    Since last week ~

    — reread Bone Rider by J. Fally plus The Sentinel by Eden Winters both of which I enjoyed once again. Incidentally, The Sentinel is currently free for Kindle readers: https://www.amazon.com/Sentinel-Eden-Winters-ebook/dp/B00IB4YWX8/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?keywords=sentinel+Eden+winters&qid=1571889589&sr=8-2
    — read Our Pet by S. M. Matthews which was a pleasant reverse harem story though it did end with a cliffhanger.
    — read/looked at Mapping Manhattan: A Love (and Sometimes Hate) Story in Maps by 75 New Yorkers by Becky Cooper which proved to be a quick read. I can imagine this book might be enjoyed by New Yorkers as well as those who like maps and/or art.I
    — And read another boatload of samples on my Kindle.

The Christmas Wish–from a few years ago. Will be a Hallmark movie, so I wanted to read it first.
