Casee: I’ve found a new-to-me author and I am so excited! I’ve never read or heard of D.B. Reynolds before Wednesday and I have no idea why. Her upcoming release The Stone Warriors: Kato came up on my recommendations on Amazon so I picked up the first book in the series, The Stone Warriors: Damian. Finally Amazon has done something right. I am thrilled.
Holly: I read Small Magics by Ilona Andrews this week. It’s a collection of short stories set in the Kate Daniels world. I hadn’t read most of them, which is odd since I thought I’d read every book in that series.
Rowena: This week was a busy one for me because I had stuff planned and then I had to pack and get ready for my trip that I am on right now. My family and I are in Utah for a baby blessing so it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that I didn’t read much this week. I’m still reading Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs but I should finish it up tonight and then once I’m back home, I plan to jump right into Ironed Kiss by Patricia Briggs to keep the Mercy Thompson party going. 🙂
What are you reading this week? Any new favorites or books that drove you crazy? Share!
Have been reading D B Reynolds for years – her Vampires in America series.
This week I have been catching up on Larissa Ione – reading her novellas – Hayes, Azagoth and Z.
Another week with no time to read (waaahh!), other than a nonfiction audiobook I started. Unfortunately it’s kind of boring though, and I may just give it up. I think I’ll finally have time to read next week and oooh boy I am going to take advantage of it!
I’ve read D B Reynold’s Shifter Planet which was an enjoyable book.
Recent reads here ~
— I finished my re-read of Anne Bishop’s the Others series with Vision In Silver, Marked In Flesh, and Etched in Bone. I recommend this series.
— The Protector by Cooper West which I enjoyed but not as much as I liked the second book in the series which I read last week, Parker’s Sanctuary: A Guardsmen Novel. I’ll look forward to reading more in this series. This is a male/male paranormal romance series. I then went on and re-read Cooper West’s Rescued: A “Parker’s Sanctuary” Story (this is a prologue which is currently free to Kindle readers) and Parker’s Sanctuary: A Guardsmen Novel.
— RUSH by Emma Scott which I enjoyed. This is about a violinist (suffering through a difficult time) and a man dealing with blindness.
— Cambria Hebert’s Text (Take It Off Book 4). The first part of the book seemed sadly believable but then came aspects that require quite a bit of willing suspension of disbelief. (On telling my husband about those aspects, he said so much so that new shocks would be required!) I did enjoy reading the book, but I doubt it’s a book I’ll re-read.
I tried DB Reynolds’ first Vampires in America book and liked it but haven’t gone back to the others. I probably have one or two on my TBR pile LOL. I prefer shifters to vamps so if I’m reading a paranormal, it’s usually shifter based. Having said that, I did finally read the final Night Prince book by Jeaniene Frost, Into The Fire. I was really looking forward to it, but unfortunately it was a bit too violent for me. Lots of action, and lots of torture and blood. I really wish that series had just been three books instead of four.
On the other hand, I also finally got my hands on Devil In Spring by Lisa Kleypas and I adored it. This weekend I’m reading The Unyielding by Shelly Laurenston and Reapers Legacy by Joanna Wylde and loving both of them.
