Rowena: I just finished reading The Gamble by Kristen Ashley and now I’m going to start Sweet Dreams by Kristen Ashley to get ready for our book club discussion next month.  Lots of Kristen Ashley action for me. =)

Holly:

I’m still in a stupid reading funk. During the early part of the week I was on a roll. I even read two books in one day. Then I lost my mojo again and I haven’t read anything since. This is starting to get depressing.

I read Crystal Cove by Lisa KleypasSea Glass Winter by JoAnn Ross and did a re-read of Down London Road by Samantha Young. I didn’t love the Kleypas. IMO it was the weakest of the series. I felt the hero needed to grovel more. I really enjoyed Sea Glass Winter. I highly recommend the series to fans of contemporary romance.

What are you reading this week?

Am reading Hip Check by Deirdre Martin. Liking it even tho the hero is not 100% likable; but he is getting there.

    • I have this book in my TBR pile but the one time I tried reading it, I couldn’t get into it so I put it down. Haven’t picked it back up yet, maybe I should.

This week I’ve read Two of a Kind by Susan Mallery, and Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella. Last night I was up to the wee hours finishing The Newcomer by Robyn Carr because I just couldn’t put it down! (I haven’t read the review posted yesterday, just scrolled down to see the rating because I had just started it.) Today I’m going to start Their Virgin Captive by Shayla Black and Lexi Blake, the first in the Masters of Menage series. I was torn between that and Faking It by Cora Carmack.

    • Hey Jeanine, how did you enjoy Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella? I’ve got The Newcomer on my radar so I’m thinking of giving that a try, once my review pile slims down. =)

I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. I was disappointed with the eBook price ($12.99) when it first came out and was on the library’s wait list for (what feels like) ever. It had me laughing out loud, literally, with all the things poor Lottie had to go through at the hands of Fliss. Though the literal LOL may not be bad, I read on my commute, so there I was on a crowded NYC subway train randomly laughing at my Nook. If Wedding Night is a book that you haven’t read, I would definitely recommend it.

Read Laura griffin’s new Tracer’s book – Exposed this week. Really enjoyed it. Am now reading Cecilia Grant’s A Lady Awakened . . is wonderful! 😀

  4. I am in a funk too. sigh. So I am not reading any of the ARCs. Instead I am re-reading Collared by LA Kornetsky. Then I am not sure what I’ll read. Maybe some contemporary romance.

I really enjoyed Sea Glass Winter, like the entire series. Lisa Kleypas is also really good. I haven’t read Samantha Young.

    • I definitely recommend Samantha Young. She writes great character driven contemporary romances. I heart Down London Road. =)
