Holly: I can’t believe September is half over. Time seems to be flying by..and yet it seems to be crawling. I’m back to reading contemps again. This week I read Baby, Don’t Go by Stephanie Bond, the third book in her Sweetness, Georgia series. It was ok. I liked the couple when the focus was directly on them, but all the matchmaking and talk of the previous couples bothered me. I also read Real Men Will by Victoria Dahl. I had some problems with the heroine and the family drama, but it wasn’t a bad story overall.
Next up I think I’ll read Heartstrings and Diamond Rings by Jane Graves.
Rowena: Ooh Holly, can I read that next? I just finished reading some YA books for The Book Scoop but right now, I’m moving on to The Icing on the Cupcake by Jennifer Ross. So far, it’s pretty good so I’m looking forward to reading more.
I just finished Fatal Consequences and Fatal Destiny by Marie Force. I love that series. Also just read The Battle Sylph by LJ MacDonald. I would categorize it as fantasy romance, which I don’t usually read, but I really enjoyed it.
I am reading Until There Was You by Kristan Higgins and then a few non romance novels – Storm Front by Jim Butcher, Tiger Hills by Sarita Mandanna, Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman and Kitchen Counter Cooking School by Kathleen Flinn.
I started New York to Dallas and restarted Provacative in Pearls. Am going to finish that series if it kills me! — willaful
If it’s halfway through September, you know what that means, don’t you? Christmas is almost here…shriek!
I’m almost finished with Laura Griffen’s Snapped, which I’m enjoying more than I thought I would. I can’t imagine why I wasn’t anticipating it – it’s a fine romantic suspense.
The book before that was Wings of Fire, by Caris Roane. The first in the series – Ascension – seemed a bit clunky to me with all the worldbuilding details that were shoehorned in, but by this third one, I race through the book and wait for the next one.

Currently reading Engaging The Enemy by Elizabeth Moon. It’s book#3 in the Vatta’s War series.
I finished Prey by Linda Howard. It was an okay read with a fairly predictable ending. I also didn’t care for the POV of the bear’s thoughts. It didn’t quite work.
Rowena, I haven’t finished it yet but so far it is okay. It’s a bit different than her other books given that we do get to see the male POV this time, which is something that I missed in her previous books.
@Kim: There’s a POV of a bear in Prey by Linda Howard? You’re kidding me, right? That just made me laugh out loud here at work.
You know, I haven’t heard of a lot of the books that you guys are reading. I need to go look them up. Thanks for stopping by everyone!
@Marg: How did you like Until there was You?
@Willa: Good luck finishing that series!
