Holly: I had another busy week and didn’t have much reading time. I managed a reread of Fire Touched by Patricia Briggs, but that’s pretty much it.
Rowena: This week wasn’t as productive reading wise as last week but I did get a couple of books read. I read Dirty by Kylie Scott, which was an enjoyable read and start to a new series. I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of the Dive Bar gang fall in love. I also read Eight Ways to Ecstasy by Jeanette Grey which was a deliciously steamy romance and I fell in love with Rylan all over again. He’s so yummy.
I’m finishing up The Earl Takes All by Lorraine Heath, which is another fantastic emotional journey but after this, I’m going to take a break from my review pile and jump into The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Marianna Zapata. I’ve heard nothing but great things about this one so I’m excited to dig in.
What are you reading this week? Any new favorites or books that drove you crazy? Share!
I just finished ARC of A Murder in Time by debut author Julie McElwain and I absolutely loved it! It’s such a perfect mix of murder mystery, time travel, and romance. It has smart and strong heroine and takes place in Regency England. Some of my favorite things all in one gorgeous package. I cannot believe this book is by a debut author, her writing is flawless.
Your comment alone piqued my interest so I have added it to my wishlist. Thanks for stopping by and sharing with us, I wouldn’t have come across that book or paid any attention to it otherwise.
Even though I had tons of work to do during my break (#notabreak) I still managed to squeeze in a bunch of reading! I read a few old Harlequins I picked up at a thrift story. I also read Exit Strategy by Lena Diaz and really liked it–can’t wait to read book 2 in the series now. Then I went back and read some of Diaz’s Intrigues, which were enjoyable though not as good as the new series. Finally, I read Laura Griffin’s next Tracers book which was also good but not great.
Hey Jen! I hope you had a great week (and weekend). How many books are in the Tracers series and would you recommend that? I’m curious.
I haven’t read as much as usual since I’m staying with my mother who is recuperating from a fall. Kristen Ashley’s Walk Through Fire lasted me from take off through the second of two flights; I finished it as the landing gear descended. It was a great way to pass all of those travel hours. Since then I finished a re-read of Lisa Kleypas’ Dreaming of You. Also re-read a couple of Sarina Bowen works, and I read Marie Force’s Fatal Scandal. Currently reading with pleasure K. J. Charles’ A Seditious Affair.
Ooh, I’ve been wanting to do a re-read of the Ivy Years series but haven’t gotten around to it yet. I’m pretty anxious to do so though. Soon, I keep telling myself.
Dreaming of You. Oh man that was a good one. Are you Team Derek or Team Sebastian? Haha, inquiring minds want to know. 🙂
I just finished a really good PNR ghost story called Ghost of a Promise by Kelly Moran. It was just spooky enough to keep me going, but not so bad that I was scared and couldn’t sleep. It was also well written and had very engaging lead characters. It’s the first of a series from Entangled and now I’m looking forward to reading the other two (luckily I’ve bought all three as they’ve come on sale).
Ooh, going to look that book up right now along with the other two in the series. Keep us posted on how you like the others, will you? 🙂
I just finished reading The Earl Takes All by Lorraine Heath and holy cow that book made me cry. The whole romance was impossible (the heroine is the hero’s dead twin brother’s wife) but I was so wrapped up in the story anyway. So stinkin’ good. I can’t wait for the next book in the series. Bring on Locke!
