Holly: I had a lazy reading week. I did some re-reading and that’s pretty much it. My plan for the month was to make up for my sad reading the past couple months, but it didn’t work out that way.
I re-read The Gamble, Law Man and Wild Man by Kristen Ashley. That’s it. Though, to be fair, those books are each something like 700 pages, so…
Rowena is having an even more sad reading week than me and reports she’s reading nothing. Poor baby.
What are you reading this week? Any new favorites or books that drove you crazy? Share!
Books I read this week include:
— [I can’t recall if I mentioned this title last time, but it’s well worth a second mention.] Carry the Ocean by Heidi Cullinan was an excellent romance featuring two young men.
— Mary Balogh’s Unlikely Duchess which was written 25 years ago; a pleasant read.
— Him by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy; an enjoyable m/m new adult romance
— Jackdaw by KJ Charles; An enjoyable historical paranormal male/male romance.
— a re-read of a contemporary romance — The Genius and the Muse by Elizabeth Hunter
— the contemporary m/m romance In the Middle of Somewhere by Roan Parrish; I also enjoyed this.
— a short young adult novel ~ Edge of Nowhere by John Smelcer
— a re-read of Jennifer Ashley’s historical romance The Duke’s Perfect Wife (Mackenzies Series).
OK Holly and Rowena, I finally got around to reading Hearts of Fire by Linda Howard, which I’ve heard you guys mention so many times. You were right, it was awesome! Ben is pretty great but for me Jillian was where it’s at. She was so smart and didn’t give Ben a single inch he didn’t have to earn. Plus I’m always a sucker for a jungle adventure. So good!
Oops, typo: Heart of Fire.
