Rowena: I’ve been reading Julie James non-stop for the last week. I read every single one of her books. I finished Love, Irresistibly a little bit ago and I’m kind of sad that I’m all done with Julie James re-read. I can say without doubt that I’m anxious for Vaughn’s story. I feel like I’ve got ants in my pants, I want it that bad. Now that I’m finished with my re-read, I have to start a review book before I move on to anything else (sorry Holly, Christine Feehan will have to wait another book). I’m going to start Over It by Sarah Billington. Ames and I will be buddy reviewing that on the blog and I’m super excited. I really enjoyed the first book and am looking forward to reading this one.
Holly: This week I read Before Jamaica Lane and Castle Hill by Samantha Young. I didn’t love AJL as much as Down London Road, but it was good. So was Castle Hill. I liked seeing a glimpse into the After part of Joss and Braden.
Then I read Dark Wolf by Christine Feehan (aside: I keep wanting to type Bad Wolf. Whovians!). I was sorely disappointed in it. I was really looking forward to Skylar and Dimitri after all this time, but I skipped too many books in between. It read less like a romance between those two and more like an extension of storylines from previous books. If, like me, you were lured back to the seires by these 2, I suggest you either skip it or read ALL the previous books before going into it.
Now I’m reading Dragos Takes a Holiday. I adore Thea Harrison’s Elder Races series. I’m already loving this novella. I can’t wait to finish it.
What are you reading this week?
I whipped through A Lot Like Love this week. Now I can’t wait to read About that Night. I’m always looking for sexy and sophisticated banter and Julie James has it down. I also read Widow’s Web and Deadly Sting by Jennifer Estep and loved them also, so it was a great reading week for me.
I’ve read a couple good books this week. And then I’m reading what I’m reading now… Don’t you just … UGH! lol Read and loved Rumor Has It by Jill Shalvis and Thirty and a Half Excuses by Denise Grover Swank (along with the two novella’s before the next book release). Currently I’m reading Be With Me by Maya Banks. 150+ Nook pages into it, and all they do is question whether this is right or wrong and everyone is having conflicting feelings about things. I’ll stick with it because I want to find out who is doing the threatening of Regina. Sucks because I’m hardly ever disappointed with Maya Banks.
