Holly: Can you believe this is our 160th WAYR post? Crazy.
I’m still in a reading funk. I spent most of the week trying to read Consumed by Rebecca Zanetti. There’s something about the dialogue that bothered me, but I couldn’t put my finger on what. I ended up setting it aside around page 150. I may come back to it later.
After giving up on that, I started Crystal Cove by Lisa Kleypas. I was really into it. Then life got in the way and I’ve had zero time to read. Hopefully I can finish it this weekend.
Rowena: It is pretty crazy that we’ve been doing this for 160 weeks. I’m reading our blog book club book of the month, The Gamble by Kristen Ashley. So far, I’m liking it.
What are you reading?
The Siren by Tiffany Reisz. It started out a little slow but I’m about 60% in and enjoying it.
Hey Stacy! I’ve had that book in my TBR pile for the longest time but haven’t gotten around to it. Let me know how you end up liking the overall book. I’m curious.
The Way You Look Tonight by Bella Andre, the first of the Seattle Sullivans.
How are you liking the series so far, Jeanine?
I like what I’ve read. I do love each Sullivan we’ve met (both San Francisco and Seattle) but I think the happily ever after comes too quickly, if that makes sense. I know it’s fiction, but it seems that every Sullivan just seems to be head over heals instantly. It won’t stop me from reading the rest of the series, and I have a feeling after finishing Rafe’s book last night, once we’re done with the Seattle Sullivans, we’ll meet the East Coast Sullivans, as they were briefly mentioned.
I ordered The Siren and it should be here soon. I am currently reading The Last Policeman by Ben Winters and it is really good.
Hey fanficfan44, what’s The Policeman about? As you can see, I’m too lazy to check for myself. =)
It is a pre-apocalypse mystery book. Basically the earth is going to be destroyed by a giant asteroid in the next six months and everyone knows it, so the economy, communications, etc are all breaking down. This policeman is still intent on doing his job and trying to solve a murder case at a time when most other people are off “bucketing” (completing their bucket lists). Well written and really good so far.
I’m trying to finish my re-read of the Psy/Changeling series (taking notes this time, for a series of cheat sheets for my blog–I’m amazed at the foreshadowing, honestly–sadly, I get so into the story, I forget to take notes and have to go back, so it’s taking much longer than I thought).
I’m also getting distracted by other shiny, mostly re-reads though.
Which book are you at in the Psy-Changeling re-read? I’m slowly making my way through Vaughan’s book but like you, I keep getting distracted by my review pile.
Well, I’m now on Playing by Fire, but my notes for the last three are skimpy at best–I know I’ve thought “oh, I need to write this down” but instead I kept on reading, caught up in the scene/moment.
Plus, the shiny.
LOL, you are too cute. I haven’t gotten that far yet but I look forward to catching up with this series. I’m itching to read Heat of Obsidian since everyone has been reading and loving it.
