10/15/11 – What Are You Reading?

Holly: I can’t believe it’s the middle of October already. This year has flown by. It’s going to be Thanksgiving before we know it. My reading has picked up this last week. Finally. I thought that reading slump I was in was going to last forever. It helps that I had some great books to read.

It started with Tempted By His Target by Jill Sorenson. I’ve been off romantic suspense for awhile, but I think it pushed me back toward them. I read The Heart of a Killer by Jaci Burton, another rom suspense, and really loved it, too. Along the same lines, but with a paranormal element, I read Spirit Bound by Christine Feehan, her upcoming Sea Haven novel. I adore that series. I really wish she’d leave off the Dark series and focus on these instead. Selfish, right?

Then I read some historicals. How the Marquess Was Won by Julie Anne Long was fabulous. I really love how she tells love stories. Trouble at the Wedding by Laura Lee Ghurke was good, too. It’s the third in her Abandoned at the Alter series. I didn’t read the first two books and I don’t feel like I missed anything.

I think I’m going to read Untamed Highlander by Donna Grant next. It’s been a long time since I read a highlander book.

Rowena: It’s been a slow reading week for me. I might be sliding into a small reading slump which I’m hoping to nip in the bud over the weekend. Right now, I’m reading The Next Always by Nora Roberts and The Next Door Boys by Jolene B. Perry. Both books are pretty good so far, I just need to read them.

I finished Unclaimed by Courtney Milan. While the writing and characters were well-done, I had some problems with specific points in the story. I’m now reading In Bed with a Highlander.

@Holly I can’t wait to read How the Marquess was Won. Was it as good as the last book?

After finishing Seduction of a Highland Lass, which I really liked, I am now going through a horrific reading slump. I have 5 books started that I have no compulsion to finish. I am hoping Seduced by the Highlander by Julianne Maclean will do the trick.
