What Are You Reading? 12-16-11 (86)

We’re a little late with this post but what the hell, better late than never right? We hope you’re enjoying your weekend!

Holly: I can’t believe its already the middle of December. Sadly my concentration is still pretty much nonexistent. I did manage to read 2 books this week, but they both took forever to finish.

The first was the Holiday Kisses anthology featuring novellas from Alison Kent, Jaci Burton, HelenKay Dimon and Shannon Stacey. I really enjoyed the collection. Each story was sweet and simple. Perfect for curling up with on a dreary winter day.

The second was A Rogue By Any Other Name by Sarah MacLean. I’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of this spinoff series. I wasn’t disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed Michael and Penelope. I’m only sorry that we have to wait so long for the next book to be released.

Rowena: I read a couple of books this week but they were both YA books, now I’m reading Secrets by Freya North. So far, it’s pretty good. I’m hopeful that it’ll get better as I keep reading. I have A Rogue by Any Other Name by Sarah MacLean but I’m saving it as my rewards read for after I’ve read five review books. =) Wish me luck! I’m glad to see you enjoyed it Holly because I would have been bummed if you didn’t (but I still would have read it and probably loved it, now I know I will).

Casee: I am still re-reading the Drake Sister series in addition to do some reading of new books in between. I re-read Dangerous Tides (which I have always loved). Ty is just a great hero because he’s not your average hero. Libby understands him in a way that no heroine can. I also re-read Safe Harbor, which is Hannah and Jonas’s book. In this book the reader finally sees that while Jonas is still an ass, he’s the one who understands Hannah and really knows her. The next book to re-read is Turbulent Sea, Joley and Ilya’s book. I started it but then decided I needed to read something new.

The something new I started was Home Front by Kristin Hannah. Whenever I read anything by Kristin Hannah, I have to be ready for an emotional read. I was ready, but I still cried. It was an amazing book and I can’t wait until it comes out. I can’t wait to review it even thought it’s going to be such a hard book to review. Hannah’s books are always about families finding their way back to each other, but never easily.

I just started Hidden Summit by Robyn Carr. I’m not as big of a fan of Virgin River as I used to be, but I’ve gone into this one with an open mind.

  1. Anonymous

HPs are good for when my concentration is shot. That happens to me a lot.

I’m reading Carla Kelly’s Enduring Light, which sadly is not really my thing. 🙁 It’s more historical than romance, so far. Was just thinking I’d find something else for awhile. — willaful

  2. I’m currently reading Out Of The Dark by David Weber and loving it. It tells if an alien invasion of Earth from both sides of the conflict and it’s brilliant.

  3. I liked the Holiday Kisses anthology. I am excited for the Sarah Maclean too.

I just finished reading an old Sabrina Jeffries – After the Abduction. Need to try and get through some books this week but I don’t think it is going to happen.
