What Are You Reading? DFRAT Edition: Week 2 (112)

Holly: This week hasn’t been much better for me reading-wise. I started several books, but had a hard time focusing long enough to finish any of them. I finally fell into a story and 1/4 of the way through it started dragging. Tucker’s Crossing by Marina Adair. Very slow going. I might set it aside in favor of something else.

I did manage to read Pillow Talk by Maya Banks. Talk about a steamy read. Whoa mama. I enjoyed it for the most part. There are some things that happen that turned me off as a reader, but Banks addressed them and made them a key part of the plot, so I was appeased in the end.

Rowena: It’s been a slow reading week for me. I haven’t really sunk my teeth into anything but I did manage to read Slow Summer Kisses by Shannon Stacey. I enjoyed it. I’ll work on my review for that one in a little bit but yeah, it was an enjoyable read. I have no idea what I’m going to read now.

  1. I had two fantastic digital reads this week. First was About Last Night by Ruthie Knox, her second book and just a fantastic read all around. The second was a classic Loveswept that was reissued last fall, Lightning That Lingers, by Sharon and Tom Curtis. I read this back in 1983 when it first came out. Rereading it, I was reminded of what amazing writers Sharon and Tom were. IMHO, this is probably one of the best category romances ever written. I keep hoping that someday, the rest of their books will be issued in digital.

  2. Oh, I loved both of those books — and I will be first in line if Sharon and Tom Curtis’ other books are digitized!

Heh — my capcha is “eforesom.” I guess it’s a hint that my next book should be menage.
