I finished Traitor’s Masque by Kenley Davidson, which had a lot of intrigue that kept me invested (though the romance was very lite). I then went back to the Legends of Abreia series and finished The Hidden Queen and The Captive Throne, books 3 and 4. Each couple gets 2 books in this series, with an overarching storyline that spans the entire series. I enjoyed the couple from books 1 and 2 more, but I really liked the way the storyarc progressed in these two books. I also read The Daragh Deception by the same author, a SciFi novel set on a planet being colonized by humans. I started the second book in the series, The Concord Coalition. I’d like to find another audiobook to listen to as well, but I haven’t decided what I’m in the mood for.

Over the past week ~
— read the science fiction romance Capture the Sun by Jessie Mihalik. This was the third book in a trilogy, and I enjoyed it (but it’s not a book or series I’m likely to reread).
— reread Shifting Shadows: Stories from the World of Mercy Thompson by Patricia Briggs which I enjoyed once again. This book is a lengthy collection of stories which take place in the author’s Mercyverse.
— read several stories that were in a recent giveaway of male/male romances. I enjoyed A Bad Case by Hollis Shiloh; The Marvelous Mr. Strike by Will Forrest was pleasant; and The Sacrifice by Saga Nansen I found ho-hum.
— reread a favorite science fiction romance, Dark Horse by Michelle Diener. I enjoyed it once again.
I just finished Sarina Bowen’s m/m romance, I’M YOUR GUY, about the relationship between a closeted professional hockey player and the interior designer he hires to decorate his new house. It was wonderful—one of my favorite books of 2023! Now I’m reading Claire Kingsley’s OBSESSION FALLS, the first book in a new series featuring the Haven brothers (rivals of the Bailey Brothers from her last series). This one features a romantic-suspense element with a heroine who is being stalked.
