I’ve been on a dragon binge recently. I finished the Darkness series by Katie Reus then decided to try Kiss of Fire (Dragonfire #1) by Deborah Cooke. I didn’t like it at all. I don’t know if Katie Reus’ books were so good that I just expected too much or if it just wasn’t a good book. I also reread Garrett’s Destiny (Dark Protector #15) by Rebecca Zanetti. I really liked this one the first and second time around. Now I’m reading Edison (The Navesink Bank Henchmen #10) by Jessica Gadziala.

I’m listening to Hello Stranger (The Ravenels #4) by Lisa Kleypas. I love Mary Jane Wells. She’s a phenomenal narrator.

I discovered a new-to-me author, Jenny Schwartz, and read the first book in a fantasy/sci-fi spin-off series about a magic house, Any House in a Storm. It was interesting enough that I decided to go back and read the original series. I’m currently reading the first book, The House That Walked Between Worlds. I’m enjoying the world and the premise.

I listened to Crowbones by Anne Bishop. I really love the narrator and I thoroughly enjoyed the story.

I’m reading Claire Kingsley’s THE GRUMP WHO SAVED CHRISTMAS, a grumpy-sunshine romance about a woman trying to save her family’s Christmas tree farm and her ex who is attempting to purchase the land to build a data center.

    Over the past week ~

    — Nora Goes Off Script by Annabel Monaghan was a dangerous book. I took it to bed one night to sample and then one more chaptered until I finished it! As you might surmise, I enjoyed it.
    — For my local book group, Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr. Since this was a long book (637 pages), I read it slowly over a couple of weeks. It was very different from the previous book I’d read by this author, All the Light We Cannot See, but I did ultimately find it a rewarding read.
    — A Restless Truth (The Last Binding Book 2) by Freya Marske; this was an enjoyable historical fantasy romance. It is a follow on to the author’s first book but features two women as the leads.
    — I am very nearly finished with Only Bad Options: A Galactic Bonds book by Jennifer Estep; it’s an enjoyable science fiction romance.
