I’ve gotten back into paranormals this week. I read Lover Unveiled (BDB #19) and Lover Arisen (BDB #20) by J.R. Ward. As much as I get annoyed with JRW, she has created a world that leaves me wanting more. After reading those two, I decided to pickup Shadow Fire (Shadow Riders #7) by Christine Feehan. I’m not sure what I think of it so far.

I bought Say It’s Forever (Redemption Hills #2) by A.L. Jackson on audio. I’ve already read the book, but I love her books on audio.

I’m still not reading a ton. I finished Fated by K.M. Shea, and Miss Moriarty, I Presume? by Sherry Thomas. I enjoyed both, though neither were my favorite from the authors. I continued reading the Immortal Guardians series by Duanne Duvall. After Night Reigns, I read Phantom Shadows, In Still Darkness and Darkness Rises. I also read Wild Fire and Wild Wind by Kristen Ashley. Though they were my favorites of that series, I did enjoy them for the most part.

I read Wild Knight by Annabel Chase, a new-to-me author. The premise was reminiscent of Kate Daniels. I enjoyed it enough to immediately download the second book.

I’m currently listening to Night Unbound by Dianne Duvall and reading Three Dog Knight by Annabel Chase.

What are you reading this week? Any new favorites or books that drove you crazy? Share!

I’m reading Amelia Wilde’s LAST RESORT, the third and final book in her Collector trilogy about an artist and the reclusive collector who collects her work (and, eventually, her). It’s very dark and full of triggers, but I’m enjoying it.

    Over the past week ~

    — Akin by Emma Donoghue for my book group; I very much enjoyed this book and would happily read more by the author. The book has a slight mystery element and some poignant history; it also has a lot of humor and I laughed aloud several times.
    — Hunt the Stars by Jessie Mihalik; it’s my favorite of her books thus far.
    — enjoyed Near Death (A Raney/Daye Investigation Book 1) by Rich Hosek, Arnold Rudnick, et al. which I won in a Goodreads giveaway. This is a mystery with paranormal elements and, for once, I actually figured out the evil-doer before the reveal. Should book two be written, I’d happily read on.
    — the fantasy Vespertine by Margaret Rogerson which I enjoyed. It actually reminds me a bit of Lois McMaster Bujold’s Penric and Desdemona series. If a sequel to this book appears, I would happily read it; however, I don’t think I’ll likely reread this book. This book does have violence, but I think it is a fine choice for teens and adults.
    — continued my Doyle/Acton reread and enjoyed revisiting Murder in Deep Regret, Murder in Revelation, and Murder in Unsound Mind all by Anne Cleeland.
