Casee: I have been binging on MC contemporaries the last week or so. I read four books in Joanna Wylde’s Reapers MC series. I’m currently reading Down & Dirty: Zak by Jeanne St. James. It’s the first book in the Dirty Angels MC. I’m only on chapter two so I can’t really say if I like it or not.
I was listening to Iron and Magic by Ilona Andrews, but I didn’t finish it on audio. I ended up reading the last few chapters. Unfortunately I haven’t been into listening to audio books lately. I need to get back into it for sure.
Holly: This week I read the rest of Hailey Edwards’ Beginner’s Guide to Necromancy series. I finished How to Claim an Undead Soul, then read How to Break an Undead Heart, How to Dance an Undead Waltz, How to live an Undead Lie, How to Wake an Undead City and How to Kiss an Undead Bride. I have 2 other novellas to read, but I’m taking a break from the series for now.
I finished listening to One Fell Sweep and started Sweep of the Blade by Ilona Andrews. I also reread The Time in Between and The Will by Kristen Ashley.
I think I’m going to start How to Marry a Marquess by Stacy Reid next.
What are you reading this week? Any new favorites or books that drove you crazy? Share!
I’m reading The Worst Best Man by Mia Sosa. I’m enjoying it.
Since last time ~
— Heated Rivalry (Game Changers) by Rachel Reid. I can imagine rereading this male/male contemporary hockey romance.
— Game Changer by Rachel Reid, the first in the same series, which I also enjoyed.
— a reread of Linesman (A Linesman Novel) by SK Dunstall which I enjoyed once more.
— the audio version of The Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold. The narrator is Lloyd James who does an excellent job with the many voices. We are almost finished and have both enjoyed it thus far. It’s my husband’s first exposure to the book while I read it for the first time some months ago.
I’m reading Serena Bell’s Returning Home series: HOLD ON TIGHT, CAN’T HOLD BACK, TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, HOLDING OUT (I’ve finished the first three and an about halfway through the fourth). The hero of each book is a veteran who has suffered some form of combat-related injury. There are different tropes: secret baby, second chance, “virginity assistance,” best friend’s sister, even amnesia, and Bell does an excellent job with all of them. I highly recommend the entire series.
Reading Emerald Blaze by Ilona Andrews. Loving it so far. Just finished This is Crazy by Natasha Madison. Hero is a hockey player, I enjoyed it.
