I read 11 books in January. My favorite was KD Casey’s UNWRITTEN RULES, a beautifully written m/m baseball romance. I did DNF two books: DIBS (another m/m baseball romance) by Rachel Lyn Adams & Kimberly Knight; and JUSTIFIED (m/f, antagonists-to-lovers) by Jay Crownover. Both books were badly written with lots of tell-not-show and demonized ex-wives. Ugh.
Some of my favorites from January were:
A Strange and Stubborn Endurance (The Tithenai Chronicles Book 1) by Foz Meadows
Shift Happens by T.M. Baumgartner
The Book of Firsts as well as Four Kings (A Very Secret Garden 1) by Karan K Anders.
I found A Sight for Psychic Eyes (Piper Ashwell Psychic P.I.) by Kelly Hashway a tad disappointing.
I read and enjoyed Walk of Shame by Lauren Layne. I never read it when it first came out. If anyone is interested, I just noticed her last book, You Again, is on sale for $1.99 on Amazon.
I’ve had a lot of reading time this month thanks to foot surgery so I’ve been on a Pippa Grant binge since I’ve been collecting the ebooks and hadn’t read many. They’ve been a lot of fun. I also enjoyed Jane Austen Must Not Marry an interesting time travel by May McGoldrick. My least favorite was an anthology that I wanted to read for a couple of stories and should have just stuck to those stories.
worst book and writing: First Night by Lauren Blakely
In the Barren Ground by Loreth Anne White was interesting
