I’ve been reading Dianne Duvall’s Immortal Guardians series. I’m about to start Cliff’s Descent, which is the latest installment in the series. I’ve also been rereading Kristen Ashley’s Chaos series, specifically Wild Like the Wind.

I’ve been listening to old Julie Garwood favorites. I listened to The Wedding and am currently listening to Saving Grace. I love revisiting old favorites on audio.

I read Penmort Castle and Lucky Stars by Kristen Ashley, neither of which I had read previously. They aren’t ones I’ll read again or that I would recommend. I read Gossamer in the Darkness by Kristen Ashley, which is a new entry in her Fantasyland series. I enjoyed it. I picked up Dark Class by Michelle Diener several times and couldn’t get into it, so I set it aside and re-read Dark Minds to refamiliarize myself with the story. I re-read Dark Ambitions, then went back to Dark Class and easily fell into it. It was a good entry to the series. I hope there are more, though the Dark Class: Bonus Epilogue did help close out the story and would be a fitting end to the series.

Next I read The Danu by Kelly Lucille, which came up as a recommended read on Kindle. It was an interesting fable about a race of people with Earth magic and the invaders who want their land, with a forbidden romance. I enjoyed it enough to start the next book, Return of the Danu. I also listened to Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews, a long-time favorite. I’m currently listening to Sweep in Peace.

I just finished Katie Golding’s FALLING FOR THE ENEMY, an antagonist-to-lovers romance with a “You’ve Got Mail” element. It’s about two rival music promoters who don’t know they’re also anonymous sexting buddies. I enjoyed very much. Now I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s release of Marley Valentine’s m/m romance, UNWANTED, about two men who grew up together in foster care.

    Over the past week ~

    — For my local book group, I read Homegoing: A novel by Yaa Gyasi. Overall, this was a sad book. It began in Africa and followed the descendants of two sisters, one of whom was enslaved and sent to America.
    — quite enjoyed the science fiction first contact story Damocles by S.G. Redling. This was intriguing in that it was people from Earth who were aliens on another planet. Much of the story dealt with communication.
    — also enjoyed the contemporary male/male romance Charles: Learning to Love by Con Riley. This was a slow burn and had a lot more depth than many romances I’ve read.
    — read This Quest is Bullshit! by J. P. Valentine. This is the second litRPG book I’ve read recently; while it was a pleasant read, I don’t think this genre really speaks to me.

I read Debra Salonen’s Gold Country series books 1-3: Her Gold Country Valentine; The Rancher & Widow’s First Christmas; and Falling for the Stranger. They take place in California near Yosemite National Park. I’ve also been reading a historical anthology Desparate Daughters.
Best of all I lucked into an ARC of Grace Burrowes’ upcoming Miss Desirable and it is wonderful!
