I received an ARC of Give Me a Reason by A.L. Jackson. Now I love A.L. Jackson so I was really looking forward to it. It blew my fucking mind. I finished it yesterday and it is one of the best books I’ve read all year. All the feels, good & bad. Happy & sad. I can’t wait to share my review with you guys.
Now I’m reading Pagan by Jessica Gadziala. I’m just all about the dark romances right now. I also decided to listen to Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews. I just adore that series.

I read Portrait of Death: Unforgotten by Isabel Wroth, a paranormal romantic suspense. I didn’t love it. The suspense angle was pretty bad and the romance didn’t make a lot of sense to me. After that I re-read Spellbinder by Thea Harrison and Steadfast by Sarina Bowen.
I have no idea what to read next. I think I want a paranormal romance. Any suggestions?
FYI: Just a note that I haven’t heard back after sending two emails to admin@thebookbinge.com; I hope all is well.
Hi Karen,
I’m sorry for the delay. We took some time off and just got caught up. Thanks for checking in.
Thank you!
Over the past week ~
— Last Bus to Wisdom by Ivan Doig for my local book group. This is the rare book group book which I really enjoyed. It’s set in the early fifties (mostly in the US west), but there were things that resonated with me: the westerns of German author Karl May were huge in this book and May was an author my Dutch father spoke of fondly; S & H green stamps figured in the book and my bedside lamps were purchased with those back in the day; and a character in the book was surprised to meet a family member with a glass eye which happened to me, too. This led to a fun discussion with my group.
— reread one of my favorite series ~ Linesman (3 Book Series) by SK Dunstall.
— a passel of samples on my Kindle.
Oh Kareni—in 1975, when I was preparing to start college and go out into the big world, my mom gave me her entire hoard of S&H green stamps so I could get some luggage. I got a set of Samsonite suitcases which I used until 2017! Thanks for the trip down memory lane. (Yes, I’m old!)
You are in good company, @DDD. There were fellow S&H green stamp users at the book group meeting last night as well as those who collected Blue Chip stamps. Fun memories!
After “discovering” Claire Kingsley a few months ago, I’ve been on a glom of her backlist. I’ve been reading her seven-book Jetty Beach series. I’m on the fifth book now and so far my favorite is book #4, OPERATION GET HER BACK, a second-chance romance between a former marine with PTSD and the now-divorced woman he loved in high school.
I have several of CK’s books in my TBR pile. Thank you for reminding me!
