WAYR-New

Holly: I’m still not reading anything new. I reread all my Best of 2015 books while finishing my lists, but that was a week ago and I’ve yet to read anything this year. I’m starting to make myself sad.

Rowena: This week I read My Kind of Wonderful by Jill Shalvis, which I thought was okay. It was good but I don’t know, I didn’t love it the way that I love most of Shalvis’ stuff. Still, I’m looking forward to Jacob’s book. I also read Alpha & Omega by Patricia Briggs for my Five Books Everyone Should Read Challenge. I really liked that one so I’m plugging along to Cry Wolf right now. So far, it’s great and I should be finished with it today. After this, I think I’m going to jump into My American Duchess by Eloisa James. For real this time.

What are you reading this week? Any new favorites or books that drove you crazy? Share!

  1. A while back, all of Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple stories were on sale for a ridiculous price (a dollar, I think?) so, of course, despite owning them all in print, I bought them. I am no in the middle of reading them all.

Books I’ve read since New Year’s:

    — I re-read a favorite novella ~ Patricia Briggs’ Alpha & Omega. (Sound familiar, Rowena?)
    — Anna Bradley’s historical romance A Wicked Way to Win an Earl (Sutherland Scandals). It was okay, but it’s not a book I’d be likely to re-read.
    — a historical romance re-read: A Promise of Spring by Mary Balogh.
    — What We See When We Read by Peter Mendelsund. This is non-fiction; it was a quick read but not really my cup of tea.
    — an enjoyable science fiction romance ~ Dark Horse by Michelle Diener. I really enjoyed this book; in fact, I re-read it the next day.
    — an enjoyable fantasy novel ~ The Paper Magician (The Paper Magician Series) by Charlie N. Holmberg.
    — Winter Oranges by Marie Sexton which was a very enjoyable male/male romance featuring a ghost (or is he?)
    — November 9: A Novel by Colleen Hoover was an intriguing new adult read that had a somewhat unexpected twist.
    — Rebound Remedy by Christine d’Abo which is a romance featuring two men. It was pleasant.
    — Abigail Roux’s Cross & Crown (Sidewinder Book 2) which I enjoyed. It’s the second in a spin off series from the Cut and Run series.
    — currently re-reading Grace Draven’s Radiance and enjoying it again.
