Holly: Despite being crazy busy, I had a fairly good reading week. High school graduation preparations are kicking my butt. How is it time for my baby girl to graduate already? And why must it take so much work to prepare for it?? Plus, I started watching the Outlander series on Starz and I’m totally hooked. Who else is watching this show? I haven’t read any of the books, but I’m totally obsessed with the show. I heart Jamie, and Claire is pretty kickass. Anyway, on to my reading…
I finished reading Cat’s Lair by Christine Feehan. I honestly thought I’d like it more than I did. I’d forgotten what alpha-holes her shifter heroes are. I also read Cynthia Eden’s Bound series: Bound in Blood (free for Kindle), Bound in Darkness, Bound in Sin, Bound by the Night and Bound in Death. I liked the series. Each story is novella length, so I ended up wanting more when I was through, but most of the tales were engaging. I re-read The Mistake by Elle Kennedy after discussing it with some friends. I also re-read Sweet Dreams by Kristen Ashley.
I tried reading Ink Inspired by Carrie Ann Ryan, but I set it aside after a chapter or two. I’m not sure if it’s the story or my mood, but I wasn’t feeling it. I also started Primal Instinct by Sydney Somers, another free download, but I’m not really into it, either. The writing is fine I’m just not in the moood. I’m not sure what I’m going to read next.
What are you reading?
I just finished Taming The Legend, by Kat Latham. Rugby players for the win! I don’t know anything about rugby but after reading this series, I really want to watch a game or three. The heroes are all adorable caretaker alpha types which are my favorite types of heroes. Now I’m on to Hammered by Kevin Hearne, third in his Iron Druid UF series (no romance though in this series).
Wasn’t the Kat Latham good? I really like that series. The hot rugby players, the strong women…win!
Yesterday I finished Devon Monk’s Infinity Bell which is the second book in her House Immortal series; I recommend it and am now looking forward to book three which is due out in September. Currently reading Kristen Ashley’s Soaring.
I’ll be curious to hear your thoughts on Soaring.
