Rowena: I didn’t get a lot of reading done this week but I did read a pretty great book. I finished Me Before You by Jojo Moyes, which I really liked. It made me ugly cry so you know it was good. I also read Catch a Falling Heiress by Laura Lee Guhrke, which was another great addition to a pretty fantastic historical romance series. I adored Jack. He was just full of yum.
Right now, I’m reading Trade Me by Courtney Milan and I’m really enjoying it. Like, a lot. I already love the hell out of both Tina and Blake. And Maria. They just swapped places where I’m at in the story and the fun is just beginning. I can’t wait to finish it. After I finish this book, I’m going to pick up We Can Work it Out by Elizabeth Eulberg. I’ve been looking forward to that read.
Holly: I’m still in a reading funk. I wanted to read all week, I just couldn’t find anything that grabbed me. I read Wild and Free by Kristen Ashley. Her paranornals aren’t my favorite and this one didn’t do a whole lot for me. The premise wasn’t terrible, but the execution left a lot to be desired. To be honest, I was mostly just bored. The secondary romance was cute, but the main storyline was just meh. I did a re-read of Saving Grace by Julie Garwood, which is always a pleasure.
I re-read Mine to Possess by Nalini Singh, and started Hostage to Pleasure. I stopped reading after MtP the first time because the characters weren’t working for me. I’m glad I decided to go back and re-read it. I enjoyed it a lot more this time around. I’m about 1/4 into HtP and I’m really loving it so far. I’m looking forward to catching up on the series.
What are you reading this week? Anything good?
I finished reading For Nick by Taylor Dean, it was fabulous. Last night I started reading Yours Until Dawn by Teresa Medeiros, it’s an older book I have read before but I love it.
I’ll have to check out that Medeiros. I haven’t read very much by her but I do remember reading one book that I really liked.
I loathed Mine to Possess with the passion of a thousand burning suns – more specifically Tally. She was sooooo horrible to Clay that I just wanted to punch her on every page and then I wanted to punch Clay for being in love with her. I could have written all the 1 and 2 star reviews on Amazon! 😀
I just re-read Elle Kennedy’s Out of Uniform series – the novellas. I am spinning my wheels waiting for Laura Griffin’s latest which is due out on Tuesday! 😀
I actually have the Laura Griffin (reviewer perk!) and it’s next on my list to read. I meant to read it earlier but sometimes her books can be a little gruesome and I have to be in the right frame of mind for that. If this new one is as great as her others, though, I’ll be a happy reader.
Ooooh – turns green! I can’t wait to get my grubby mitts on it 😀
I started it and so far so good! 😉
Got my mitts on it and have read the first few chapters – bliss! Love Vaughan!
Oh no, Clay’s heroine is a jerk to him? Ugh. I’m going to be starting Judd’s book this week. So I’m looking forward to that.
Rowena, knowing how you are, I don’t think you’ll have major issues with Tally. In the beginning she was frustrating, but you’re quick to forgive.
She was a first rate cow!
Wearing my Judd button! He’s mine – all mine ! 😀
That was my problem the first time I read it. I wanted to kill Tally. She worked better for me this time. I didn’t love her, but the her actions in the 2nd half of the book made me not hate her, so that’s something.
I just pretend that book 4 doesn’t exist when I do my re-reads! Lol! 😀
*Blows raspberry* – not jealous . . . . much! 😀
