Holly: I’m still doing quite a bit of re-reading. I did manage to read some new releases, however.
Breakable by Tammara Webber was good. I don’t want to spoil it but I will say I thought I’d find it boring, but I didn’t. Whisper to Me by Christina Lee is the third book in her Between Breaths series. I didn’t love it as much as I loved book 2, Before You Break, but I really enjoyed it. Lee is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. Taken with You by Shannon Stacey, another Kowalski book, was fun and fresh. I really love that series. Yesterday I read The Will by Kristen Ashley, her newest release and the beginning of a new series. I liked the story and look forward to seeing who comes up next.
I re-read Wrecked by Meljean Brook, a novella I missed in my binge read of her Iron Seas series last month. I also read some old favorites; Daisy’s Back in Town by Rachel Gibson (the Kindle edition is $1.99), Cry No More by Linda Howard, Lady Be Good by Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase. I had such a good time revisiting these.
Now I just need to write some reviews…
Rowena: Like Holly, I’m still doing some re-reading myself and also like Holly, I managed to get some reading done for some new releases as well.
This week I read Dare to Desire by Carly Phillips, Fall from India Place by Samantha Young, Before You Break by Christina Lee and The Promise of Amazing by Robin Constantine. My re-reads of the week are Kiss an Angel by Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Castles by Julie Garwood and Smooth Talking Stranger by Lisa Kleypas.
I can’t really complain about any of the books that I read this week. They were all good but I think my favorite (new) reads of the week are the Lee and the Young. Both of those books were really good and I’m so glad that I read them. I don’t have a favorite re-read of the week because I loved them all. Oh man. Loved them.
What are you reading?
Reading going through Tessa Bailey’s books pretty quickly. They’re super steamy. Perfect way to get ready for the summer 😉
Wasn’t Before You Break awesome? I love loved that book.
Yes, it really was. Goodness I loved me some Quinn. And Ella was pretty great too.
I just finished listening to Midnight Rainbow by Linda Howard… my, it’s dated! I enjoyed it pretty well except for another weird voice problem — this time a heroine who sounded like someone trying to portray an 8 year old boy. Considering it was a female narrator, I don’t know WTF happened. Her male voices were fine.
Need to finish up Special Interests, which is very good, and get on some review books!
Midnight Rainbow is one of the LH books that I have yet to read. I should fix that but I’ll probably stick to reading them myself.
Holly, I haven’t read Before you Break yet but it’s NEXT
It’s such a good read, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
