Rowena: March is here and there are quite a few books to look forward to but here are the books that Holly and I are pretty anxious for.  All March releases. We’ll try not to sound too greedy but we can’t make any promises.

Night Broken (Mercy Thompson, #8)Holly: Night Broken by Patricia Briggs

An unexpected phone call heralds a new challenge for Mercy. Her mate Adam’s ex-wife is in trouble, on the run from her new boyfriend. Adam isn’t the kind of man to turn away a person in need—and Mercy knows it. But with Christy holed up in Adam’s house, Mercy can’t shake the feeling that something about the situation isn’t right.

Soon, her suspicions are confirmed when she learns that Christy has the farthest thing from good intentions. She wants Adam back and she’s willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen, including turning Adam’s pack against Mercy.

Mercy isn’t about to step down without a fight, but there’s a more dangerous threat circling. Christy’s ex is more than a bad man—in fact, he may not be human at all. As the bodies start piling up, Mercy must put her personal troubles aside to face a creature with the power to tear her whole world apart.

I didn’t love this book as much as some of her other Mercy Thompson books, but it’s still worth a read. Especially for fans of the series.

Between the Devil and Ian EverseaHolly: Between the Devil and Ian Eversea by Julie Anne Long

Julie Anne Long’s USA Today bestselling Pennyroyal Green series returns with the story of an heiress too wild to love and the Eversea rogue who dares to try.
Orphaned American heiress Titania “Tansy” Danforth receives two simple requests from her aunt before being shipped off to her distant cousin in England:

1) Make a spectacular, titled marriage.
2) Stay out of trouble.

But once thrown into Sussex society, Tansy’s less-than-angelic side emerges: the willful, wickedly witty beauty sets out to enslave hearts and steal beaux, and does so effortlessly. That is, until Ian Eversea sees right through her.

A veteran of war and inveterate rogue, Ian Eversea keeps his heart guarded and his options open: he has no interest in the shackles of marriage. But when Tansy appears to show interest in his sister’s suitor, Ian has no choice but to put the American in her place. The last thing he expects is to discover the true Tansy is the perfect match for his own fiercely protected heart.

Holly: I love Long’s Pennyroyal Green series. I’m really looking forward to Ian’s book. He’s been a favorite of mine since the series started.

Rowena: I’ve read some of the books in this series and really enjoyed them.  I should catch up and then read this book.  It looks good.

Her Kind of TroubleHolly: Her Kind of Trouble by Sarah Mayberry

It takes one to know one

The moment Vivian Walker spies Seth Anderson she knows they’re a match made in hedonistic pleasure. And everything that happens between them proves her right. Even better, they both agree their one night together is all they’ll share.

Now, years later, Seth remains one of Vivian’s favorite memories. Surely the sizzling chemistry has faded, though, right? Apparently not. Because when she sees him again he’s still sinfully attractive. More than that, she actually likes the man he is. When Seth suddenly becomes a full-time dad to a newborn, Vivian falls hard. Despite the changes, however, she knows Seth will never settle down. And he will definitely never commit to one woman. So she needs to strengthen her defenses before she gets into real trouble!

I love Mayberry’s books. I always get wrapped up in them. Plus, she has the unique talent of making me hate almost all her characters before I fall in love with them. I’m really excited about this new release.

Sweet Disorder by Rose LearnerSweet Disorder by Rose Learner

Political intrigue could leave his heart the last one standing…alone.

Lively St. Lemeston, Book 1

Nick Dymond enjoyed the rough-and-tumble military life until a bullet to the leg sent him home to his emotionally distant, politically obsessed family. For months, he’s lived alone with his depression, blockaded in his lodgings.

But with his younger brother desperate to win the local election, Nick has a new set of marching orders: dust off the legendary family charm and maneuver the beautiful Phoebe Sparks into a politically advantageous marriage.

One marriage was enough for Phoebe. Under her town’s by-laws, though, she owns a vote that only a husband can cast. Much as she would love to simply ignore the unappetizing matrimonial candidate pushed at her by the handsome earl’s son, she can’t. Her teenage sister is pregnant, and Phoebe’s last-ditch defense against her sister’s ruin is her vote—and her hand.

Nick and Phoebe soon realize the only match their hearts will accept is the one society will not allow. But as election intrigue turns dark, they’ll have to cast the cruelest vote of all: loyalty…or love.

Warning: Contains elections, confections, and a number of erections.

Holly: Lerner writes such vivid historical romances, I always feel like I’m living the tale along with her characters. I’m excited for this newest release.

Carolina Man by Viginia KantraCarolina Man by Viginia Kantra

Meet the Fletchers of Dare Island
Steady Matt, the son who stayed
Ambitious Meg, the daughter who never looked back
And warrior Luke, the Marine who never expected to return.

A heartwarming new novel in New York Times bestselling author Virginia Kantra’s beloved series about family ties, second chances, and the power of love…

Marine Luke Fletcher is determined to do his duty—first to his country and now to his ten-year-old daughter, the unexpected legacy of a high school girlfriend. But his homecoming to Dare Island in North Carolina’s Outer Banks challenges his plans for the future and forces him to face everything that’s missing in his life. He wasn’t prepared to lose his heart to this child he never knew. Or to fall hard for coolly reserved small town lawyer Kate Dolan.

Former military brat Kate knows Marines can make lousy fathers…and she’s got the scars to prove it. Giving her heart to a man who’s bent on leaving seems one sure way to have it broken.

Now, no matter what it takes, Luke must prove to Kate and to his daughter that Semper Fi is more than a motto—and to himself that there’s more than one way to be a hero.

Holly: I’m a behind in this series, but I still plan to buy this when it comes out. I really like Kantra’s contemporary voice.

Beneath the Patchwork Moon by Alison KentBeneath the Patchwork Moon by Alison Kent

Transforming the old Caffey property into Hope Springs’s new community arts center won’t be easy for celebrated weaver Luna Meadows, but she sees it as a labor of love.

Or could a new beginning lie within the tangled threads of their past?

Part of the Hope Springs series, this charming romance follows two broken hearts on their long journey home.

Holly: Kent is an author I pick up every now and again when I want to read a quick, engaging tale. I’m glad to see she has another book releasing.

Hope Ignites by Jaci BurtonHope Ignites by Jaci Burton

From the New York Times bestselling author of Hope Flames and the hot new Play-by-Play novel, Melting the Ice, comes an all-new novel of small-town romance, second chances, and hope…

When a movie crew asks to film on his cattle ranch, Logan McCormack doesn’t expect Desiree Jenkins, the young star with the bad-girl rep, to be so open, so down-to-earth, or so intimately interested in him. But the last thing a loner like Logan needs is a distraction like Des, who wouldn’t understand what it’s like to live peacefully off the land.

But it’s Logan who doesn’t understand. What Des wants is an escape from paparazzi and gossip columns, and she’s found it at Logan’s ranch. Now it’s up to her to prove that she’s like any other girl looking to be accepted for who she is. “Jaci Burton’s books are always sexy, romantic, and charming! A hot hero, a lovable heroine, and an adorable dog—prepare to fall in love with Jaci Burton’s amazing new small-town romance series.”—Jill Shalvis, New York Times bestselling author

Holly: I’m really digging this new series by Burton. If you haven’t read one of the books yet, you really must. Go forth and buy.

Rowena: Yeah, I’m in for this one too.

The Innocent by Shiloh WalkerThe Innocent by Shiloh Walker

For a woman he can’t touch, he’ll turn Hell inside out.

FBI Psychics, Book 2

There’s only one reason Jay Roberts would set foot in a middle-of-nowhere town like Hell, Georgia. She’s got a bone to pick with her sort-of boyfriend. They only met online, but things got hot and heavy before their cyber link went silent.

She’s here to get in his face for an explanation. But no touching. Her psychic abilities make physical contact…complicated. Yet something about this relationship made her think things would be different. She’s not in Hell twenty minutes before bad vibes have her skin crawling.

Corruption has stained the very fabric of Linc Dawson’s town, and now it’s stolen something very dear to him. The last thing he has time for is nursing Jay’s broken heart.

But Jay isn’t going anywhere. Not only because she’s not giving up on him, because she’s got access to the kind of backup nobody wants on their bad side. And Linc discovers the woman who’s afraid to touch him could actually be his best chance. At salvation, at hope, at life. Maybe even love…

Warning: This book contains a not-so-naive virgin, a pissed-off former cop, lots of frustration, if you know what I mean, and more trouble than either of them know what to do with.

Holly: I really like psychic paranormals and Walker writes good ones. This novella is part of her FBI Psychics series.

It's Always Been You by Jessica ScottIt’s Always Been You by Jessica Scott

She plays by the rules . . .

Captain Ben Teague is many things: a tough soldier, a loyal friend, and a bona fide smart-ass. He doesn’t have much tolerance for BS, which is why he’s mad as hell when a trusted colleague and mentor is brought up on charges that can’t possibly be true. He’s even more frustrated with by-the-book lawyer Major Olivia Hale. But there’s something simmering beneath her icy reserve–and Ben just can’t resist turning up the heat . . .

. . . and he’s determined to break them

But when the case that brought them together awakens demons from Olivia’s past, she will have to choose between following orders–or her heart . . .

Holly: This is the next book in Scott’s Coming Home series. I have to admit, the last one pretty much laid waste to my emotions. I’m glad to see this one is releasing but I might need a minute before I can read it.

Rowena: I need to catch up on this series but I am interested in reading this one.  I liked the first couple of books that I read so on my list this book goes.

Death's Daughter by Kathleen CollinsDeath’s Daughter by Kathleen Collins

Book two of the Realm Walker series

Juliana Norris, Realm Walker with the Agency, is an Altered. A fact that she runs up against every time she’s forced to work with human police officers, and their species-ist commissioner, on cases they can’t solve themselves. Which happens more than they would like to admit.

Her gift—the quality that makes her the best Realm Walker in the business, without boast—is the ability to read magical signatures. Whether the gift came from her father, the dark fae god of death, or the mage mother she can’t remember, is anyone’s guess. And when Altered children start going missing with only wild magical signatures as clues, her heritage is the last thing on her mind.

Holly: I have book one in by TBR pile. I really like the premise of the series and look forward to reading it.

Billion Dollar Bad BoyThe Billion Dollar Bad Boy by Jackie Ashenden

The Billionaire’s Club: a fabulously sexy contemporary series about some of the world’s wealthiest, most powerful men and the women they claim…and keep.

Donovan Morrow, the charming, loveable, sexy face of the Morrow company, can’t seem to get a break. Despite all the wining and dining he does for his partners—both in business and in bed—he feels underappreciated. Always coming in second to big brother Jax, he’s considered the playboy of the family, and not someone to be taken seriously. Even more frustrating is when Victoria de Winter, the sexy, sultry manager of the Morrow’s company biggest rival, won’t give him the time of day or night. If only Donovan could show her how his darkest desires revolve around her, she wouldn’t keep blowing him off…

Victoria has always been a good girl. Working hard for the family business and engaged to a respectable man her parents approve of, Victoria thought she had her whole life figured out. That is, until Donovan Morrow entered her life. Victoria knows she shouldn’t lust after him—a direct competitor of her family and a notorious playboy, Donovan is all wrong for the stable life she has carved out for herself. But if this hot billionaire keeps pursuing her, Victoria can only resist for so long before she has to explore his darker, wilder side…

Holly: Okay, confession time. I’m kind of a Billionaire junkie. I don’t even know why, but if the title has Billion(aire) in it, I buy it. This series looks really good, though, so at least I have that going for me.

Cherri has often wished she were thin and graceful like a ballerina instead of being a six-foot-tall blonde with curves that require serious caution. Unless maybe he’s looking for the exact opposite of a delicate lass?

Rowena: I’m just hearing about this book, in the last week or so and I’m definitely interested in reading it.  It sounds like my kind of story.

Don't Even Think about ItDon’t Even Think about It by Sarah Mlynowski

We weren’t always like this. We used to be average New York City high school sophomores. Until our homeroom went for flu shots. We were prepared for some side effects. Maybe a headache. Maybe a sore arm. We definitely didn’t expect to get telepathic powers. But suddenly we could hear what everyone was thinking. Our friends. Our parents. Our crushes. Now we all know that Tess is in love with her best friend, Teddy. That Mackenzie cheated on Cooper. That, um, Nurse Carmichael used to be a stripper.

Since we’ve kept our freakish skill a secret, we can sit next to the class brainiac and ace our tests. We can dump our boyfriends right before they dump us. We know what our friends really think of our jeans, our breath, our new bangs. We always know what’s coming. Some of us will thrive. Some of us will crack. None of us will ever be the same.

So stop obsessing about your ex. We’re always listening.

Rowena: I like Mlynowski’s books.  They’re always a little quirky, a lot cute and even funnier than I thought they’d be so she doesn’t disappoint.  I have every faith that I’ll enjoy this one just as much as her other books.  I can’t wait to dig into this one.

Rowena: I read the first book in this series, Flirting in Italian and while it wasn’t my favorite read, it was still good and I’m curious to see where Luca and Violet are at in this book. So on my wish list it goes.

My Life with the Walter BoysMy Life with the Walter Boys by Ali Novak

Jackie Howard does not like surprises. Chaos is the enemy! The best way to get her successful, busy parents to notice her is to be perfect. The perfect look, the perfect grades—the perfect daughter. And then…

Surprise #2
Jackie has to move cross-country to live with the Walters—her new guardians.

Surprise #3
The Walters have twelve sons.
(Well, eleven, but Parker acts like a boy anyway)

She’s not stuck-up or boring—no matter what they say. But proving it is another matter. How can she fit in and move on when she needs to keep her parents’ memory alive by living up to the promise of perfect?

Rowena: This sounds like it’d be a good read.  Something right up my alley so I’m interested.  I want to read this one.
