Rowena: I still haven’t gotten into a good rhythm, reading-wise but the good news is that I’m still reading so that’s something. I finished reading The Bride Wore Size 12 by Meg Cabot the other day and that ended up being a pretty funny read. Something that I’ve always come to expect from a Meg Cabot read. It was really nice to see the gang all back together again, solving crimes at Death Dorm.
After I finished that book, I dug into Running Back by Allison Parr which was another good read. I enjoyed getting to know Mike O’Connor (someone we met in the first book) and I even warmed up to the heroine, Natalie a lot faster than I did to Rachael in the last book. It was a fun and interesting book and I’ll be reviewing that book sometime in the near future for the blog.
Now, I’m reading Crash Into You by Katie McGarry. It’s Isaiah’s story and I’m anxious. I’m about three chapters in and already, I’m hooked. I love this series and I’m thrilled that we finally got Isaiah’s book. He kind of rocks! My heart kind of hurt for him in Beth’s story because he was so in love with her and she didn’t share the sentiment. Now Isaiah is finally moving on and healing from that heart break and I’m glad. That’s what I’ll be reading tonight while my daughter is at the high school Homecoming football game.
Holly: I’m not reading anything right now. I’m too bogged down with wedding stuff. Today I’ll be pampering my sister and tomorrow is the wedding. After that hopefully I can do nothing but read for a week.
What are you reading this week?
I just started The Wrong Billionaire’s Bed by Jessica Clare. It’s the 3rd book in the series, my fave of the first two was the second book, with Hunter and Gretchen. But so far I am liking Reese. For the last two weeks, I’ve been reading Stephen King. Re-read The Shining but because of work craziness I couldn’t read at lunch so it took longer than expected. I finished Doctor Sleep today and absolutely loved it! If you’re a fan of Stephen King, and The Shining (book, not movie), I highly recommend.
I’ve never been a reader that reads Stephen King even though I’ve been told to try his books time and time again. I’m a romance reader and I need a happily ever after. Maybe one of these days, I’ll change my mind.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my romance and my HEAs, it’s my #1 reading subject, but every now and then I break and turn to mystery/horror and The Shining/Doctor Sleep were just enough to last me through the rest of the year 😉 This morning I finished The Wrong Billionaire’s Bed and when I get back from a Target run will start Sweet by Erin McCarthy.
