What Are You Reading? (171)

Rowena: This week wasn’t a good reading week for me, at all.  I read two books.  That’s it.  I read Deeper by Blue Ashcroft, which was a good read.  One about two lifeguards with issues they’re working through but who find love with each other.  It was a lot darker than I was expecting but still, it was a solid read.  The other book I read was Twisted Perfection by Abbi Glines.  I liked this book a lot more than I liked the other book that I read by her.  I adored Woods so much more than I liked Rush and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Now I’m reading The Striker’s Chance by Rebecca Crowley.  I’m not that far into the book so I can’t comment either way.  But I’m reviewing it here on the blog so you’ll see my thoughts, eventually.

Holly: I haven’t been reading anything this week, either. I’m seriously annoyed over how little I actually want to read. I did a re-read of Patricia Briggs’ Alpha and Omega novella and that’s pretty much it. I did start Jagged by Kristen Ashley last night, but I started to lose interest about halfway through. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish it tonight and get my reading mojo back.

What are you reading?

  1. I’m reading Cowboy Trouble by Joanne Kennedy, my first book by her and I’m loving it. The characters are all vivid and the writing is humorous, and I’ve decided that I really am over vampires. Just give me cowboys now!

    • Oh man, I haven’t read a vampire book in months. I’m just never in the mood for them anymore. I’m all vampired out, I guess. Love the cowboys though. =)

  2. Jeanine

I started Christmas on 4th Street by Susan Mallery and I finished Always on My Mind by Jill Shalvis yesterday. Two of my favorite authors. I haven’t had as much time to read as usual, work has been busy and I usually read during my lunch break. There were lots of good releases this week, I wasn’t sure where to start. Barnes & Noble had Lynsay Sands’ newest Argeneau book on sale, so I think that’s up next.

    • I’m right there with you with Jill Shalvis. She writes my kind of romance so her books always bring a smile to my face. I enjoyed Always on My Mind too. I love heroines who work in bakeries. And I thought Jack and Leah were too cute! I can’t wait for Ben’s book.

I know, I want to know more about Ben also. I loved the scenes with Kevin, makes me want to get a dog. Or at least borrow one for a while. I really love the Lucky Harbor series, I’m glad she continued with it. I’m really liking Christmas on 4th Street, but I feel like I know what’s coming because the books are all so similar. I love Susan Mallery though.

I’ve been thinking I need to try both Shalvis and Mallory and you two are definitely making me want to go read both of them ASAP!

        • Me too! Lucky Harbor is one of the only small town series that I’m still reading and enjoying. I got tired of all of the sunshiny romances in the other series that I was reading but with Lucky Harbor, it’s always goo for me.

  3. Rebecca

I m reading the duke is mine by eloisa James, its very good. Had a bad week for reading to as work has got in the way!

    • Ooh that’s a good book. Eloise James is a fantastic author. I hope your week gets better! If you’re in the mood for historicals, Julia Quinn is a great author.

  4. I’m gorging on Elizabeth Hoyt’s Maiden Lane books–I’m so excited about Duke of Midnight coming out next month!

I need to write reviews for these books, because I really have enjoyed them so much. Sadly, the review mojo is still mostly bleh…
