Rowena:  I can’t believe that August has come and gone.  Before I know it, summer will be done and my daughter will officially be a high school freshman.  Holy crap!  To keep myself from thinking too much about that, I’ve been reading.  A lot.

This week, I’ve read Always on My Mind by Jill Shalvis.  I really enjoyed getting to know Jack and Leah and holy goodness, Jack was hot.  I loved his sexy studmuffin self.  After that I read My Favorite Mistake by Chelsea M. Cameron, a New Adult book that I was looking forward to reading.  The heroine got on my nerves throughout a great deal of the book but I didn’t end up hating the book.  Hunter, the hero was pretty delicious so he saved the book for me.  After that I read The Bet by Rachel Van Dyken, which was a cute story.  Both the hero and the heroine were young and they acted their age, but still…I enjoyed it.

Last night, I read Find Me by Romily Bernard and I really liked it.  It was a contemporary YA with a suspense plot that had me guessing up until the very end.  It was an enjoyable read, a fast one at that and I’m glad that I read it.

Now I’m reading Rumor Has It by Jill Shalvis.  I’ve been looking forward to this book for quite some time now so I’m pretty sure that I’m going to devour it over the weekend.  I can’t wait!

Holly: I finished Too Fast by Alexis Haynes last night. It was just ok. I’m not sure what I’m going to start next.

What are you reading this week?

I’m reading Junk by Jospehine Myles, very interesting book, but it made me stop reading to clean the entire house out! 😉

I’m reading the 3rd book in Maya Bank’s Breathless Trilogy, BURN. I like her writing a lot. I have a few Jill Shalvis books I bought on sale that I need to jump into. I DNF a few recently, but loved Kristen Ashley’s ROCK CHICK finale, ROCK CHICK REVOLUTION. I also went on a YA spree with ALL OUR YESTERDAYS, DIVERGENT & INSURGENT. All of which I really enjoyed. And I read the first two Night Huntress books by Jeaniene Frost. I get the ebooks from the library, so I’m waiting for book three. I like Cat and Bones journey so far. I’m all over the place with genres but that keeps it interesting!

One big recommendation – Get the audiobook for ELEANOR & PARK by Rainbow Rowell. It was the first audiobook I listened to (apart from all the Harry Potter books that my son and I listened to in the car over 6 months). I would walk around the house with my earbuds on for a day and a half, making dinner, doing the dishes, on the computer. I didn’t want it to end! I loved the book! And the narrators are awesome!!

    Thanks for your blog!

    • Why did you DNF Rock Chick Revolution? I’ve been debating whether or not to buy it…I’m not a fan of the two or three Rock Chick books I read, but I was intrigued by Ally (this is Ally, right?).

I’ll definitely download Eleanor&Park. I like audiobooks for those times I can’t read.

I totally finished ROCK CHICK REVOLUTION. Sorry to be misleading. I love all the ROCK CHICK books and this was a good one! I love, love, love Ren. There were other books (feel bad listing them) that I read as much as 50% and just didn’t really care. I guess for me when books are 99¢ it’s easier to do that.

I’ve powered through many, many of Kristen Ashley’s books and they work for me. I like some better than others, but overall she is on auto-buy for me. I have actually been re-reading a bunch of them and enjoyed them just as much (or more) a second time.

You will LOVE Eleanor & Park on audio. I promise!

        • Oh! I see now. I misread that initially. I thought you said you DNF’d the Rock Chick book. I love a lot of Ashley’s work, but the Rock Chick series isn’t for me. They’re a bit over the top for me. I’m trying to decide if I want to read Ally’s book. I…probably will. What can I say? I’m totally weak. 🙂

    • Eleanor and Park is at the top of my TBB list. I want to read that book because I’ve been seeing nothing but good reviews for it. So of course, I want to read it!
