What Are You Reading? (158)

Holly: This feels like a really slow reading week for me. I read three books, but it feels like it took me forever to finish them.

I read Fire and Frost, the latest anthology from Meljean Brook, Carolyn Crane and Jessica Sims. I really enjoyed all three stories. Through the weekend it’s on sale for $0.99! You should go buy it while you have the chance.

I also re-read two of my favorite books. Lair of the Lion by Christine Feehan and Simply Irresistible by Rachel Gibson. Both are excellent reads. I recommend both.

Now I’m not sure what to read. I’m going to search through my TBR pile and see what jumps out at me.

Rowena: I didn’t get much reading done this week. I read Faking it by Cora Carmack and Towering by Alex Flinn. I really enjoyed the Carmack but the Flinn didn’t take me to my happy place. I don’t know what it was but it was just an ok read for me.

Right now I’m reading Visions of Heat by Nalini Singh. Going to the signing this week got me all curious about these characters so I started the series again. So far it’s pretty damn interesting.

  1. I just finished The Story Guy by Mary Anne Rivers and loved it. Taking a nonfiction break with American Savage because I still have to write my review. Savage gets up my nose sometimes, but he is very sharp and funny.

  2. My goal this year is to occasionally read some of those free books that I pick up for my Kindle. So, last week, I read Bewitching by Jill Barnett (a lovely older Regency featuring a Scottish witch and a stern duke), and an Inspirational romance called The Big 5-Oh by Sandra Bricker, about a widow turning 50 who meets a new man while on vacation. The religion was pretty lighthanded, so it didn’t bother me, and the story was cute and sweet.
