Rowena: I’m on a reading frenzy. I have started and finished more books in the last week than I have in a long while. No more reading slumps for me. I read Lord of Wicked Intentions by Lorraine Heath this week which I absolutely adored. I was so glad to finally get Rafe’s story and goodness, I think he’s my favorite Easton brother. So troubled and sexy. My kind of guy! Now I’m reading Cowboy Take Me Away by Jane Graves. I’m only on Chapter 2 so I don’t know yet if I love it or not. I’m hoping I will though.
Holly: I’m still in a reading slump. I wish Rowena’s reading frenzy would rub off on me. I read Rush Me by Allison Parr this week and that’s it. I did more skimming of other books, but I didn’t get far into any of them. I loaded a bunch of new books onto my reader last night, though. Wish me luck in actually getting through them?
What are you reading this week? Anything good? Anything bad? Share with us!
Yay! I’m so glad that you enjoyed the Lorraine Heath!! Yay! I’m looking forward to it now! 🙂 And I’m wondering whether to get the new Jane Graves, so let me know what you think of it!
Finished After Hours by Cara McKenna this week. Wow! This was my first full-length book of hers, after reading her (Meg Maguire) Strangers On A Train novella, and I’m definitely going to be picking up her backlist.
Lord of Wicked Intentions is on my list, too! I am currently reading One Hot Cowboy Wedding, by Carolyn Brown. Loving this series.
I’ve been in a super reading slump, partly due to busyness and partly due to not finding anything I wanted to read. I’ve broken through now though! I am in a reading frenzy. I read Zoe Archer’s Skies of Fire, which was a-MAZE-ing. I so loved that book. I also read some older stuff I checked out from the library, include Mary Balogh’s Irresistible (very pleasant) and Madeline Hunter’s Conquest of Lady Cassandra (was ok but not great). I picked up a super old Harlequin that I’ve kept since my teens (meh, didn’t hold up), and right now I’m finishing New Deputy in Town by BJ Daniels, which was a kindle cheapie that I’m so far not super in love with. If I didn’t have a busy weekend on 3 yo childcare duty, I’d love to read a bunch more.
I’m listening to Under the Never Sky and reading No One Left to Tell by Karen Rose. The mystery is very complicated. I usually guess things pretty quickly, but I’m baffled.
Just finished reading Perfect Timing by Catherine Anderson. It was a good read, I enjoyed it.
I just finished Whiskey Beach which was a pretty good book. I’m now reading Dangerous Refuge by Elizabeth Lowell and it’s slow going. Not a lot is happening in the first third of the book.
I liked book 1 in Lorraine Heath’s series, but I didn’t like book 2. It’s nice knowing book 3 might be better.
Oooh so many good books mentioned in these comments! I’m reading a night of southern comfort by robin covington and Jilted by Kelly Jamison!
