What Are You Reading, New Year Edition (136)

Holly: My goal was to read 200 books in 2012. If I’m going to make that goal, I need to read 10 books before the end of the month…I’m thinking that isn’t going to happen. I know I probably could read 10 books in 3 days, but I’m still in a bit of a slump and not in the mood for reading. Plus, I’m meeting my girls for lunch tomorrow and that’ll cut into my reading time. So…I’m thinking I’ll fall short of my goal. Ah well, such is life.

This week I’m reading more Kristen Ashley books. I know I said I was done with her, but I lied. Obviously. I read For You yesterday and today I’m reading At Peace.Rowena: I reached my goal of reading 150 books so I’m happy that my last reading challenge was met because I’m not participating in any reading challenges next year. Next year, I’m going to read at my own pace, whatever book I wanna read and so on and so forth.

I’m still struggling through this reading slump that is teasing me.  One day, I’m stoked and can’t stop reading and then the next day, I haven’t picked up any book at all and then it repeats.  Right now, I’m reading Losing It by Cora Carmack and I’m enjoying it but I haven’t carved out any real time to read…and it’s not like I’m busy or anything cause I’m not.  I just really suck right now.  *sigh*

What are you reading?

  1. I just finished ‘Twas the Night After Christmas by Sabrina Jeffreys & loved it. Just started A Royal Pain by Megan Mulry. I have heard good things about it & have had it on loan from the library for a month with limited time to read. I need to quit my jobs so I have more time to read!

  2. Rowena

I’m right there with you Sharlene. It’s funny because just yesterday on Twitter, we were talking about how we wish we could be professional readers and make a good living. =) Oh, I wish.

  3. I don’t think I could read for a living–once I have to do something to get paid, it becomes an obligation I will do most anything to avoid 😀

Best wishes, ladies, for the new year!

(The only exception so far is crafts–probably because, with very few exceptions, I make things first then they sell)

  4. Totally agree, azteclady, obligation ruins reading.

I’m reading Control by Charlotte Stein — want to decide whether to buy it while it’s cheap. (Already had it out of the library.) So far, I’m not liking it as much as Restraint, despite some similarities.
