Rowena: It’s been such an exhausting week for me. I haven’t had much time to read but at the moment, I’m reading Better than Chocolate by Sheila Roberts and Stealing Parker by Miranda Kenneally. So far, so good.
Holly: This week I read a couple books. I finished my re-read if The Dark Highlander by Karen Marie Moning. I’m sad to report it didn’t hold up to my previous re-reads. Chloe, the heroine, acted like a total twit for most of the book. I don’t remember her bugging me this much in the past. The rest of the book was as good as I remember.
I read The Seduction of Elliot McBride by Jennifer Ashley, her upcoming release. It’s a spinoff of the Mackenzie series and was really good. I love her historicals. She has such rich characters.
I also read Charmed Spirits by Carrie Ann Ryan, a contemporary pnr featuring a witch. I liked the premise, but the characters and ridiculous plot didn’t work at all. I might try the next book in the series to see if she improves as she goes along.
What are you reading this week?
I just started Delusion in Death. Scary premise. Listening to Paula Quinn’s Ravished by a Highlander. Not the best reading.
KMM’s heroines were always the weakest part of her stories in my opinion.
