Rowena: By the time this post goes live, I’ll be on my way to Vegas for the weekend. I just finished reading Confessions of an Angry Girl by Louise Rozette and The Way to a Duke’s Heart by Caroline Linden. Now, I’m reading Planning for Love by Christi Barth. I haven’t gotten that far into it but so far, it’s pretty good. Ames enjoyed it so I’m sure that I will too.
Holly: I didn’t have much time to read this week. MM’s elderly aunt needed help moving, so I was pretty busy. I did manage to reread Highland Bride by Hannah Howell. I picked it up after discussing it with Tracy (which was mostly me gushing and her rolling her eyes) and I’m glad I did. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend you do. Gillyanne is a great heroine. Totally worth reading.
I also read Feeling Hot by Elle Kennedy. Although its the 7th book in her Men Out of Uniform series, it’s the first one I’ve read. It was a pretty spicy book, and the plot was interesting. I really enjoyed it. There were a couple times I literally laughed out loud.
I started Dream Lake by Lisa Kleypas, but I’m only a couple pages in. I hope it’s as good as the other two in the series.
What are you reading this week? Tell us about it. Is there anything that you’ve read this week that you’re itching to discuss, share, pimp, whatever? We’re always looking for new books to read so please, pimp those books!
Just about 40 pgs into JOANN Ross’ latest.
Really liked Sherryl Woods Catching Fireflies and Where Azaleas Bloom. The hero from WAB reminds me of Walt from Robyn Carr’s Summer in Sonoma, a very kind Beta hero.
Once again, I was sucked in by a special price of $2.99 for the first book in a series and I loved it so much that I pre-ordered the second book at $9.99. This really is the best marketing ploy ever. The book in question is a UF called Hold Me Closer, Necromancer, by Lish McBride and it something I never would have bought without the aforementioned marketing ploy.
I just finished Dream Lake. To me, this book is more paranormal than mystical realism.
Pat, which Ross is that?
