Holly: So far I’m a complete failure in this DFRAT. I’ve read 3 books so far this month and only one was for the read-a-thon. This move has really kicked my butt. I told my husband if we move again we’re selling everything and buying new….or hiring movers to do everything for us.
Earlier this week I finished catching up on the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. I read Silver Bourne and River Marked back-to-back. I said I wasn’t going to binge on the series, but I couldn’t help myself. If it wins me any points, I did read the digital version of both books.
My only DFRAT book was a short story by Christie Ridgway that was released from InterMix, Berkley’s digital-first imprint. Original Zin: A Tanti Baci (Three Kisses) Novella, is a novella set before the events of Ridgway’s Three Kisses trilogy (available now from Berkley). I enjoyed it quite a bit. It was nice revisiting the Tanti Baci winery and falling into that world again.
Next week it’s all digital, all the time!
Rowena: I read 8 flippin’ books this week. Holy goodness, I don’t think I’ve EVER done that but man am I so hot dang proud of myself. Seriously. Of the 8 books, none of them were for the read-a-thon which puts a damper on my excitement. Right now, I’m reading Scandal Wears Satin by Loretta Chase and then after this one, I’ll be reading Slow Summer Kisses by Shannon Stacey for the read-a-thon. Wish me luck!
What are you reading for the DFRAT?
Just going to start Karma by Carly Phillips. Finished last nite Jill Gregory’s Larkspur Road.

Just went through a Sherri L. King binge (didn’t realize that I had not read several of her latest releases). It’s been 10 years since I first discovered her work, the first story of hers I ever read was part of an anthology and I saw that it is now available as a single title, the title is “The Jewel”. However, my favorite series of hers are the Horde Wars. Gotta love the Shikar. I am currently reading Thea Harrison’s “Devil’s Gate”. Haven’t decided what to pick up next, though.

Just read a Fool’s Gold novella (Only Us) and Courtney Milan’s newest novella (The Governess Affair). I also read a book by Julie Rowe (from Carina Press) called North of Heartbreak. I had a few quibbles about the writing style, but I loved the setting (in a tiny settlement out in the bush in Alaska).
I also just read The Governess Affair, which was lovely. Also read Crazy On You, which not so much. Now reading Her Last Best Mistake. Hey, all digital-only books, I think!
So far I read 5 books for the digital first Read-A-Thon and I’m reading the 6th one right now.
I read Vittorio’s Runaway Bride by Kimberley Reeves- 2 stars
Slow Summer Kisses by Shannon Stacey- 5 stars
Tempting the Best Man by J. Lynn- 4 stars
See You In My Dreams by Jess Dee- 4stars
Very sucky week all around, though I managed to read Tangle of Need and The Last Boyfriend and re read a few more books. But work is totally kicking my behind right now.
I finished A Night Like This by Julia Quinn and was a bit disappointed. The story had some funny moments, but overall, it didn’t quite work. I’m now starting Beautiful Sacrifice by Elizabeth Lowell.

Just finished Sandy Blair’s lastest novel “The King’s Mistress”. It was a fantastic story of secrets, adventure, and love. I throughly enjoyed reading it with it’s great detail to the characters and setting. Sandy Blair’s novels are truly enjoyable and I can’t wait until the next one!
If you like historic fiction/romance then this is a perfect book for you especially now that the summer is here
Last night I started Tucker’s Crossing by Marina Adair. I’m on the fence about it so far. The writing is a bit choppy, which makes the story kind of confusing. We’ll see if it gets better as I go along.
Oh dear, that doesn’t bode well for me.
