What Are You Reading? 4-6-12 (102)

Rowena: It’s the first week of April and I haven’t been reading much. I’m spending my time watching television shows on Hulu Plus. Don’t ask me why because I don’t know. Every time I open a book, I can’t focus and I get frustrated so I put the book down. Right now, I’m not reading a damn thing but I plan to finish reading Hot Under Pressure by Louisa Edwards that I started last week. Wish me luck because I’m starting to sound like a freaking broken record.

Holly: I’ve had better luck than Rowena in finishing books, but not by much. The baby has started teething already. Can you believe it? Of course a fussy baby doesn’t make for a lot of reading time. I read two books last week. Ember and Firelight by Kristen Callihan. Ember is the prequel to Firelight, which is the start of Callihan’s Darkest London series. I really enjoyed it, though I got frustrated with the secrets the main characters kept toward the end. I look forward to reading the next book.

Today I’m reading Beneath the Skin by Lauren Dane. This is the 3rd book in her De La Vega cats series. I didn’t realize it was being released this month, so it was a pleasant surprised when it showed up on my Nook (I pre-ordered). I’m about half a page in, but so far I’m excited about it.

What are you reading?

  1. Nightborn by Lynn Viehl and Thea Harrison’s “Oracle’s Moon”, both must reads if you like paranormal romance. Within the last two days I finished Thea Harrison’s novellas “Natural Evil” and “True Colors” both of which were very good. I like a lot how Thea Harrison writes her heroines.

  2. My reading is absolutely stuttering along the lines of what Rowena describes. It’s not that I don’t want to read–I do, dammit!–it’s just that nothing seems to be grabbing me for long, except for re-reads.

Well, this week, at least–the week before I read six new books *fist pump*

  3. I’m having the same problem. I’m enjoying Songs of Love and Death, but can only read a few stories at a time without getting mentally exhausted, and I can’t seem to settle down with another book. I need something easy, but good.

I am just finishing At Your Pleasure by Meredith Duran and will be starting About That Night by Julie James.

  5. Good luck, Rowena!!
I’ve been where you are and it’s no fun – other than watching lots of TV shows fun.

I’m trying to finish Getting Caught by Mandy Hubbard and Cyn Balog, and Life is But a Dream by Brian James ’cause I got both reviews due 😛
