Rowena: My friendship with Holly goes like this: she pimps books for me to read and I don’t read them. A few years pass and I’m looking for something to read and I finally pick up the book that Holly was gushing about years and year ago…and I get hooked. I’m always late to the party and Holly always says, “Why don’t you ever listen to me?” I’m not sure why this happens but it happens all the time and it happened again this week. I’m finally reading The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley. And yes, I’m loving it.

This week I went on a – brace yourselves – paranormal binge. That’s right, after 3ish years of avoiding pnr like the plague I can’t get enough of it. I’m currently digging shifters. At Jane’s suggestion I read the Alpha and Omega series by Patricia Briggs. It was wonderful. I can’t wait for the next book to come out at the end of the month.
I’m not sure what to try next. Maybe Pride Mates by Jennifer Ashley. Any other pnr shifter recs?

There’s an Alpha and Omega THIS MONTH? How did I lose track of Patricia Briggs that badly? Must pre-order.
Pride Mates are good, especially the first couple of them. I love shifters, but am blanking on my favorites right now, other than Briggs.
I adore Alpha and Omega. It’s my favorite series. Have you tried the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs – really good also and set in the same world.
I like Pride Mates, but I’d also recommend Eileen Wilks’ World of the Lupi series, starting with Tempting Danger. It is more UF than PNR and follows one main couple, Rule and Lily, although a couple of the books have also focused on other couples. I’ve just read the 5th book. I just read the first book in Dani Harper’s Changeling series after picking it up on sale and I’m looking forward to the 2nd one.
I love love Nalini Singh’s Psy-Changeling series!
One of these days I will read both The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie and Dragon Bound.
Haven’t read much Patricia Briggs either!
I just finished Animal Magnetism by Jill Shalvis, and it was really good. Now I have switched to an historical. I am reading What Happens in London by Julia Quinn. So far, it is a fun read.
For crying out loud, read Dragon Bound already! I’m reading Serpent’s Kiss.
You only think you’re off dragon type stories. If you’d start this one you’d see what I mean…
