Holly: This was a pretty busy week for me, so I didn’t get much reading in. Lucky for me, the two books I did read were both really great. Destiny by Carly Phillips, the second book in her Serendipity series. I wasn’t sure about it going in, because Nash, the hero, was a jerk in the first book. Phillips did a great job with him, however. He frustrated me at times, but I felt he showed a lot of growth in the end.
I also read Heart Search by Robin D. Owens, the 10th book in her Celta’s Heartmates series. If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend you do. Owens has created an extremely fascinating world. I really want to live on Celta.
I’m currently reading Home Sweet Home by Bella Riley. I’m only a couple chapters in. It’s a reunited lovers story – one of my favorite themes – so I’m really looking forward to it.
Rowena: I haven’t read much of anything this week but at the moment I’m reading Wish Upon a Star by Sarah Morgan and Merciless by Diana Palmer. Both books started out just okay but I’m still in the beginning of each so I’m hopeful that things will turn around. Of the two, I’m enjoying Merciless by Diana Palmer more, we’ll see if that’s still the case when I finish both books. Hopefully, I’ll finish over the weekend. Wish me luck!
Casee: The most prominent book in my life of late has been The American Promise: A History of the United States. After having pneumonia (now in the recovery process) followed by an acute sinus infection, I have much catch-up to do. That means long hours of tedious reading. History has always interested me, but I love reading romance even more. I wish I could take a class on that!
The other book I’m reading is Eternal Kiss: Mark of the Vampire by Laura Wright. I’ve been putting off reading this series, because really, another vampire series? Redundant much? Anyway, it’s the second in the series and is turning out to be pretty good.
What are you reading?
I just finished In Bed With a Highlander, my first Maya Banks historical. The writing was solid, but I was disappointed with the book. There were too many unrealistic moments.
I’m now starting A Lady Awakened, an arc by Cecelia Grant.
Rowena-Merciless is on the top of my TBR list!
I am finishing Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian and Just started Texas Rain by Jodi Thomas.
I am reading Terri Blackstock’s VICIOUS CYCLE and it’s amazing!
Thanks!
Rebecca
Presently reading Ring Of Fire Anthology 😀
I finished Karen Rose’s latest ‘You Belong To Me’ this morning and all I can say is WOW!!! If you are an RS fan and have not yet read this book, please do so–it is fabulous. It is nearly 500 pages long and the bulk of the story takes place over just 3 days, but there is not one slow-paced or boring moment in it.
Now I am in the early stages of ‘Duncan’s Bride’ by Linda Howard and already I am loving it!
Happy weekend all…
Recovering from pneumonia is such a drag… take it easy and feel better soon!
I’m reading Heart of Steel, which is awesome, but so intense that I’m taking a break with Real Men Will. — willaful
Just finished The Best of Me by Nicholas Spark – good book but an extreme tearjerker as his books always are.
After reading such an emotional read picked up a short book to take the edge off even tho the family in the book worked very hard – Greg Kincaid – Christmas with Tucker – also v.g.
